While I'm a big John Eden fan (I have bought stuff based on him producing it!), it doesn't have to be John. The remix of Deep Purple's Machine Head by Dweezil Zappa sounds like it's going to be amazing! So I'd have him in a flash! Here's a really interesting video - It's only 5 mins if you stop before hey do the box openning:

I thin kwe're getting old!
I don't think there is much of an appetite for stuff which lasts more than a few minutes. The people on this site who would listen to something Quo probably number in the ?00s. Most of these things, especially on TikTok, are only minutes long.
Having said that, since no-one else takes them seriously and since the band is virtually finished, it would be wonderful for Francis and Bob to document their history in detail for those of us who WOULD be interested. Francis does seem more willing to do these things at the moment with a number of more serious and in depth interviews appearing where he is slightly changing the established stories into a more realistic description of events.
We can but hope!

My memory of the official board towards the end was that you got some really interesting post subjects but within 3 or 4 posts it had descended to cheap abuse about the current line-up vs. the old line-up. In the end I couldn't blame them for closing it down. It became a rather sad waste of time. It certainly wasn't due to a single post or a single subject, but I guess there had to be a final straw. This board with it's reduced membership is much better and more accepting. If that's down to the moderators, well done. I guess it 'helps' that the old line-up can't get back together now and that the current line-up is more or less finished. On 'reduced membership', I just feel that the board's appeal has become more selective..... In that case the Quo Cups'n'Cakes is VERY selective!

Alan did seem to get some B-sides. I wonder if this was akin to some sort of agreement? He initially got a sole writing credit for Joanne and then was heard on lead vocals for Drifting Away, All Through The Night, Too Far Gone, Hard Ride, Backwater, I Want The World To Know and Big Man. Quite a few B-sides that. Royalties, mate. The b-side sells just as many copies as the a-side (Otway quote regarding Beware of the Flowers and Really Free!). Roger Taylor's I'm In Love With My Car (bloody briliant rock song!) earned him huge monies because it was the b-side of Bo Rap.

I don't care if it's pop, rock, folk or reggae, it's one of the greatest songs of all time! My love for it was honed in the discos of my north eastern ex-pit town home where, when the dj played it, we all raced onto the floor, leapt 13 feet into the air and slid on our knees into a perfect circle and headbanged until it finished! The only way it culd possibly have gotten better would be if they put a video out with Rick in full blond rock star mode - open shirt, blond hair blowing in the wind (ok, a fan) doing what Rick does. And they DID!!!!!
I don't care what else Francis has ever done, and of course, kids, you should never take drugs, ahem, but thank goodness he stirred that speed into Rick's cup of tea that evening!

Thank you 4th. If they are going to make a "thing" of his, Bob needs to stop muttering! Funny, I don't remember him being muttery.
I can't tell the difference between talk and mutter! [you've gotta be a certain age!]

It's got to be Power of Rock and Roll. Should've been an all time Quo classic! Saw a tribute band perform it in Nov first time ever heard a tribute band do it.Was really good Cheers Have you seen the Rockin' All Over The Years video/dvd from 1989? Quo play it live on that and it's pretty good

CD 143. I've only heard it the once but I like it. Various influences (50s, 60s, bit of rock), clever lyrics - Rhino's always are, a bit of cheek - Rossi on Never Too Old To Rock And Roll, and a load of fun. Recommended.

Yeah, terrific start to the gig. I must say, tho' that once the intro is done the energy from the guitars really drops when they start to sing - shame the vocals couldn't have sat on top of the guitars or at lest added up to the total energy of the guitars on their own. When they start with Caroline I always, always found the drums too quiet when they come in - then they raise. I can understand why but those drum hits could take it up another level if they had enough energy. Maybe they should soundcheck the start. Or, obvs, get me in as soundman (ot, at least, consultant!) I always liked it when they mixed up the first song. Both Junior's Wailing and Caroline are iconic, but this was great and so was Whatever You Want. And I'm a sucker for a dropped curtain start. Note: not just Quo - Kiss did great curtain starts

Hi. I’m Ant from the Quollaboration guys and we need a vocalist to complete a rocked up version of Quo’s Rock and Roll. We wondered if there was anyone on here that could help? When I bought Just Supposin’ on the day of release and read the track list while sitting on the bus home (remember that?), I expected a typical Quo final track rocker, especially as it was called Rock’n’Roll….. but it wasn’t! I’ve always wanted to rock it up, so we did! Here’s a clip for you to consider….. More info follows. Rock'n'Roll Vocalist clipQuollaboration have recorded 9 songs (3 Quo covers, a couple of Ian Hunter songs and some of our own) presented as 8 videos on YouTube and an additional audio via Soundcloud. The Soundcloud audio is a similarly adapted version of Quo’s Lies – have a look and listen: YouTube videosSoundcloud audio tracksMy colleagues in this venture have sadly had to leave the project as a result of serious health issues but I wanted to complete one final song – I have a collaborator and we have completed the music but neither of us sings. Is there anyone out there who might be interested in laying down the vocal track, or who knows anyone who might be interested? After this track, my current collaborator and I are going on to record more rocked up cover versions of non-Quo tracks so if it goes well and you want to continue there would be further occasional songs to contribute to. This would not impact if you are a member of another group and will not require much of your time. Enthusiasm is as important as experience and the process should be fun. If you have your own recording set-up that would be helpful, but if not and you think you can contribute, get in touch and we will see what we can work out. If we can finish this track then we will publish it to YouTube and/or Soundcloud. We typically get several hundred hits for our music. If you think you might be able to help us please PM me or state your interest in the comments. Cheers…… and let’s rock! (well, you have to, don't you? )
