Yup, all of those of us withOUT the means of earning from our talent can look down on those that do in the sure knowledge that we would rather have artistic merit than some dosh!
Lighten up guys, those of us who loved Quo back in the 70s can remember being looked down on by 'proper' rockers. Get the old records out and enjoy them and forget about this. Francis has been ripped off by management for millions so let him earn a little more.

As the great Lemmy once said with his popular beat combo, Motorhead, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch (although he also called it The Face is Better Than The Snatch). I find with all my music these days that I get just as much pleasure from finding a hard to find artifact as playing it! Some stuff I search for for ages and then only play once!

Yup, I'm getting one. Rhino's solo stuff is really very good.

Guilty pleasure for me - I really like it as a pop-rock song.
I have to say, the version posted above sounds less guitary than I remember - maybe the YouTube algorithm?

I wonder why the bassists in Quo release some of the best solo stuff! Alan's stint in the Bombers was excellent (Party Boys not so much) and Rhino's stuff has been generally pretty good. I've certainly enjoyed Rhino's solo shows throughout. (Mind you, I thought Francis' solo shows were also excellent)

Just watched that over on YouTube. These interviews are great and the interviewer can only get the answers willing to be offered by the interviewee, but what a missed opportunity to find out more about the Live EP such as whether Francis knows where the tapes are, etc. Mind you, I'm sure he thinks that the live performances are sh!t, etc. etc.

For those commenting on the sound o the album - the remaster sounds better in my view.

Does anyone on here have this? I'm slightly surprised that there have been no reviews.

Both from Rock's solo album and therefore produced by Pip. There's a better album to be had based on the singles from the Army album plus the b-sides rather than the album tracks (with the possible exception of Overdose). Lonely isn't a Rick solo recording I really should check my facts before posting!!! Lonely Nights was on Rick's solo album.... unless, of course, you know better!

Always loved it but it always reminded me of The Eagles' Heartache Tonight, even back then. Nice, languid shuffle. Less fussy and less multi-layered than the tracks that were on the album. As was Keep Me Guessing. Did Pip produce these B-sides? Can't remember. But they do seem different in approach than things like, say, Calling. Both from Rock's solo album and therefore produced by Pip. There's a better album to be had based on the singles from the Army album plus the b-sides rather than the album tracks (with the possible exception of Overdose).

I bought the Rossi 10" album and I like it. Same 4 good songs done twice; once in the studio and once live. However, in playing the record, I notice that on the studio tracks the audio is loaded noticeably more on the left of the stereo than the right, and on the live tracks it's the other way round, but not so much. I can sort of understand the live tracks 'cos that's where Rossi was sitting, but not the studio. Does anyone else have this? If so, do we know why? It's odd. I'm led to understand that the music on the CDs given away to VIPs and other reasons, is straight down the middle. Do I have a dodgy pressing? Cheers I don't know the answer but that's a frustrating bastard of an issue, I take it your ears are all good. One of the few parts of me that still work, mate!
