In retrospect, it's actually OK. On first hearing it in 1973, I wasn't keen. And, being the teenager I was, I wasn't mad on the guitar solo which reminded me of Hank Marvin. Very influential was Hank, of course, but certainly not cool at the time. The rest of the song is very Byrds-esque. It sounds like a Francis composition but was originally credited to Alan (hard rocker that he was ). I think Rick has been given a co-credit since. I rather like it now.

Off the wall quirky track they were probably experimenting think francis is playing a fender strat here as sounds like Hank marvin a bit. Like the latin feel to it. The vocals seem to be going through a modifier or something??

The vocals seem to be going through a modifier or something?? The same thing they used on the vocals of And It's Better Now around the same time?

Not sure about the strat but the guitar solo is definitely recorded with some short surf delay and reverb, maybe through a Fender amp or something.

Don't mind it, wouldn't have welcomed it as an album track
I spent years hunting down a copy

It has a sort of an innocence to it, the production is fairly basic (especially with the sound of the vocals) but it was in the days of 'B Sides' that weren't included on the album, it's ok though

It sounds like Claudie and there's something else in there, whether somebody has used it since or Quo lifted it I'm not sure.

It's the first time I've played it since I flipped Caroline over(She didn't seem to mind) to listen to the B side, it's a bit of a dirge to be honest.
