4th Chord and don't forget Ritchie's "t"! Three guesses what it stands for. Talented? Tremendous? Triumphant?

If you want 5 new songs, go to Hamburg. My guess is they'll drop at least 3 before Strasbourg.

Maybe Rossi told John he was trying to write his own Hey Joe? John and the rest of The Beatles were great fans of Jimi's.

Don't worry, there's no guidelines on dull posts. We even welcome posters whose auditory faculties have left them.

There's footage from; 1975 (?) 1976 [Jazz Bilzen Festival, couple of minutes showing Backwater] 1977 [Hammersmith Odeon, Rockin' All Over The World Tour] 1978 [Brussels Cirque Royal, 6th February] 1981 [Brussels Vorest National, 27th March] As far as I know it's all silent 8mm footage, so it will probably have audio dubbed over it So it's basically a Belgian compilation? Anyway, Jazz Bilzen is legendary overhere, so no complaints from this side of the pond.

Piledriver,Hello,Quo,On The Level and Blue For You it ain't ..but.. it's still has that "thing" that no one else can even get close to. I smile when all the incarnations of this band can just amble on stage at big festivals usually at the worst time of day and still STILL blow them all sideways with even die hard detractors having a great time..and isn't that what matters? Wow, which prism have you been using?

1982 was a shite album. The one Francis Quo will never beat is NTL. But from all the albums post frantic four I think this one is the best. It's better than ISOTFC, it's better than HT. Well done, boys.

According to Francis Rick wasn't any use tot the band in the studio the last 20 years. If he's right, that would mean a lot. Anyway, I hear a revitalised Quo, with the youngsters being given some free rein by the head honcho. They finally sound like a proper band again.

I read this recent interview with Rossi in the Dutch "Volkskrant" and will translate some choice bits for you:
The interviewer and Rossi meet at the American hotel in Amsterdam: Rossi used to live in Amsterdam for a couple of years during the nineties, because of British taxes. The hotel was the place where he last did coke, whilst he'd already kicked the habit. He ended up ordering triple martinis, no coke without booze. "Now I'm clean and stick to orange juice."
Gitarist Rick Parfitt overleed in 2016, 68 jaar oud. ‘Hij was eigenlijk al een half jaartje uit de band. Zijn gezondheid was slecht, hij zoop te veel en de laatste jaren hadden we eigenlijk niets meer aan hem. Dat klinkt hard, maar dit moet ik echt even kwijt.
‘Veel Quo-fans vonden dat ik niet zonder hem kon doorgaan, maar dat sterkte me alleen maar in mijn wil er zonder hem iets moois van te maken. To prove the bastards wrong.
"It feels special, this first album without Rick. In reality he hadn't been part of this band for half a year. His health was bad, he drank too much and the last couple of years he wasn't really contributing anything. Those may be harsh words, but I wanted to get that off my chest. A lot of Quo fans thought I shouldn't continue without him, but this only strengthened my resolve to create something nice without him. To prove the bastards wrong.
Parfitt was the band's rock 'n roll animal, or that was the image he wanted to have. When he joined the band, he was a gentle kid with a honeyed voice. At first he sang our more tender songs. But he'd rather be the wild rocker. In the beginning me and him sniffed coke and boozed equally hard, but I've been clean for 30 years. Rick thought he was cool being drunk. The more I tried to change his attitude by talking, the farther we drove apart. I loved Rick and don't want to discredit him, but the last 20 years he was no good to us in the studio. While recording Backbone I didn't miss him."
Charming and completely in tune with that last line of the Backbone booklet: "This album is dedicated to the memory of Rick Parfitt OBE (1948 - 2016)

I suppose it's similar to how Ritchie Blackmore once said he was going to beat up Ian Gillan with some friends (Possibly Swedish) in a back alley. Ritchie 'd better watch his back. There is a board member on here that knows some unsavoury Scandinavians as well, and he still has some unsettled scores. Kill the King, take his head, indeed.

"The cover albums, trying to find our way after Army" were low points TO FRANCIS.
Now I'm convinced he reads this board and he's even agreeing with us, finally. Welcome to the dark side, Frame. Play some more solos on the next album, alright? And none of that Crazy Crazy malarkey anymore, okay?
