Some time later Rossi and Parfitt wrote Big Fat Mama. Who wrote the lyrics, I wonder.

Who's got a good Quo photo for a caption competition?

Love your post, Mrs F. I do think you missed a chance to see them in their heyday. Once saw some footage of I guess around '74 and would have given my left arm to have been there. My first was Selhurst Park, End of the Road, and no John in sight. F*ck!

And he would put up the photo of the Apollo stage which was so high, about once a month.

I've always been rather naive as a rockfan: when you saw someone's picture on the sleeve and read their name in the credits, I genuinely thought they would have been on the actual album. We all know that with Status Quo, credits don't mean anything. TC informed me things were just the same with Rainbow. (It's still a shocker though.)

I remember when Rick had that huge fan big thing that blows at the side of the stage. I naively thought at the time it was to keep the band cool but have since decided it was just to blow his hair about and make him look good. It worked That doesn't work either, does it? Neither does the verb 'to blow' in combination with Rick and his big fan.

Some members are more members than others. Some are employees. Some own the band. No need to go Orwellian on us, PF.

In the documentary they said they are very focused on getting the sound right, which according to them is not only a question of the right gear. Maybe it's also down to the fact that two of them were trained at a music academy? Anyway, they must be really chuffed with the high praise on here.

He blew his own cover on this board by posting an old photo of the material he used to drag all over the world. The photo was well known to some of us. Came as a total surprise, we were all in awe, even Davy.

YOu cannot simply pick a "Quo"-album and react to it. Victor will have your hide for this.

I largely agree RW, although there are a few things that do remind me of older songs. Running out of time for instance does remind of The party ain't over yet for me, Face the music reminds in places a bit of Breaking away...but not in an irritating way, certainly not such that they are complete copies of other songs. I agree about I wanna run away with you. For me it's not a pop rock album at all. It's a mixture of rock with some pop elements and melody in some places, something they have done for a very long time. But the rock element is certainly back for me more then on most other albums post NTL, UTI and QPQ excepted. Cut me some slack reminds me of another song too but can't find out which one yet. Backbone (the album) reminds me of Never Too Late at times. I think it's down to the sound of the guitars and Francis's voice.

Maybe @bluehighway could organise a ‘meet and greet’ package for members of this board... I’m sure he wouldn’t charge too much. How about a nice photo posing in front of his organ?🤔 I've never charged for meet and greets, it's always a pleasure to talk to anyone who likes what I do. Quite a few have worshipped infront of my organ over the years... Would you believe me and the wife spent 5 days in Hamburg this week? Saw the poster and really wanted to attend, but it was too difficult to arrange. Gutted though.

Liberty Lane and Face the Music. Better Take Care as substitute should FTM not count.
