Interview in Hamburg last month. Skip along to the 17:45 mark. Francis talks about the reunions and the breakdown with Alan again. Seems they haven't talked since Xmas 2014, nearly 5 years ago. It simply goes back to all of them wanting more but not him. I get it but find fault with calling that period the Frantics', as if to dismiss them as another band when it was Status Quo - the original band that gave him all the success he has today.
At 19.20 he talks about the loss of the old fans around Rockin, Margie and Army periods. I am not sure what he means about the older fans not turning up so much the 2nd reunion tour. I certainly didn't think that was the case at all.

Rossi seems to have a nice rapport with Richie in this - father, son maybe. A bit unusual he hasn't Andy or Rhino alongside him in some of these Backbone interviews, don't you think, Richie being the junior member of the band and all that!!

"The cover albums, trying to find our way after Army" were low points TO FRANCIS.
Now I'm convinced he reads this board and he's even agreeing with us, finally. Welcome to the dark side, Frame. Play some more solos on the next album, alright? And none of that Crazy Crazy malarkey anymore, okay?

In London, certainly, in '13 they did 2 sold out Hammersmiths and a busy Wembley - a year later it was 2 sold out Hammersmiths and one very undersold one? Having said that, they could have toured every year and I'd have kept going (happily did 4 of the Hammersmiths)

There's a very good reason the 3rd night at Hammy on the 2014 tour wasn't as busy as the others. The Friday & Saturday were announced first, and sold out straight away. People booked Friday off work, booked train or plane tickets to return on Sunday, and booked hotels for Fri & Sat nights. The Monday was then added later. To attend would have meant paying to change travel tickets, two extra nights in very expensive hotels, and two more days off work. It was really badly planned. The only people it worked for were locals.

I don't like Mondays!...well not gig wise, just not a gig sort of a day/night is it? The lamenting of lower tickets sales on the 2nd reunion seemed pretty lame to me and trying hard to justify why it must come to an end. It was a very intense period in the very short reunion years. The tickets flying off the shelves within minutes of going on sale, with the first reunion, caught the band/management off guard. I sense FR perhaps didn't really imagine there would still be the demand out there. Quite a shock I would think and then a case of having to get to work a bit pronto!

I think the FF should have done a London only tour for Londoner's.I loved Hammersmith apart from the oiks from the shires and as for those benefit scroungers from the North...

God, this is [mostly] shite. But hell, I LOVE the interviewer - he's doing a stereotypical German accent [whether he knows it or not]
Respect, Mein Herr, you listened to FR for almost 25 minutes.

Watched the entire interview...
Something about it made me feel very uneasy if I'm honest. Strange vibe

He does like to talk. We no longer hang on every word. I totally understand that if the chemistry and vibe of old Quo is no longer there for him it is hard. Also he has a good bond with the new guys and Rhino and Andy. It is just the way he refers to old Quo from the 70's yet still plays most of their stuff which of course is what made him famous in the first place. The thing is he has control of the Status Quo name. For me he comes across honestly but a bit smug..it is my band. Not sure that makes him that likeable. Anyway it what it is but i sure there could be a warmer way to refer to the glory and hit years of Quo during much of the seventies.
