Brilliant track. Would have made for an excellent opener on that tour. Obviously wasn't around for it, but was told about the spinning globe projected on the curtain. A drone, the globe spinning on the curtain, guitar intro, drums start building up, globe zooms in on the location/city and then the curtain drops.

At the time, the album was OK. Not as good as it's immediate predecessors but I didn't see it as particularly weak. Not like I felt when I first heard If You Can't Stand The Heat. The funny thing now is, that latter album has stood the test of time a bit better. I'm still a big fan of I Should Have Known and Resurrection but several other tracks have fallen by the wayside and I've rarely played them over the years. I Love Rock And Roll is as poor as Quo ever got. Hackneyed and perhaps even lazy. Especially with I Want The World To Know covering the same lyrical ground. It would seem that Alan was fast running out of ideas! Although I never thought anything of it at the time. Poor choices of singles didn't detract from it's chart showing, mainly because of the hype and marketing surrounding the whole 20th anniversary thing and the Charlie gig. At the end of the day, the album has slipped way down the list of preferences in my personal Quo album chart. It's not lower than Back To Back. But maybe only just Tbf, I think they were all out of ideas. Army, AC and PR shows highlights that Producing it themselves was a major mistake IMO. Needed an outside producer

Hate it, except for Dear John
Sounds like a band that's done. B2B at least had Ol Rag Blues, TCTTG and NC. Your Kind Of Love is far better than ILRNR too, IMO

Didn’t gillie get over excited after the reunion and booked an Australian tour that had to be cancelled? I’m really pleased for John though overall. He got to see how loved he is playing with JCQ Not fully sure tbh... Only thing I recall was her trying to convince Francis to bring the reunion tour to Australia. Open to correction of course

Firstly, if anyone thinks JC shouldn't be playing those songs because Francis wrote them, you're wrong. If you think it's a case of Francis coming in with all the instruments written and JC never coming up with his own parts and ideas for them, you're sadly mistaken.
Secondly, it is of course speculation if Francis left what would have happened, but it makes me laugh when I hear things like "they would have sunk without him" and "Rick, Alan and John would have turned it into a mediocre band playing bars and clubs"
You might not realise it, but the band sunk with Francis and without Alan and JC. Fans left in their droves and chart positions were at their lowest since the early days. David Walker saved them and none of it had anything to do with Francis as he and Rick still lived off the material that themselves, Alan and John produced...
If Francis had left the band and gone solo, he'd have failed. Francis going up against George Michael, Boy George, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, Sting and Michael fucking Jackson for success in the charts with the stuff he was writing? Please...

That's really sad to see. No Rick, Alan or John. As Mrs Flittersnoop notes, they only appear in the fanclub section as part of their history. Looks like it's been updated by a non-fan. So Francis then

It kind of sums up how bizarre it felt that Matt left the band . On the face of it, they all liked his drumming, his interviews in FTMO were positive and he had this song on the album. I don’t think there was a major issue- there’s a photo of Francis hugging Matt in 2016 . Francis doesn’t strike me as a hugging type of anyone he didn’t like or had fallen out with There were a few rumours going round about the treatment of Matt, long before Bula Quo came out

Take out bohemian rhapsody and I think Quo would be higher than Queen Not sure about that, mate. They had four no.1's (including Under Pressure with Bowie) and numerous top 5's. They were still selling singles well into the 90's and beyond, even after Freddie's passing. Outside of the Man U nonsense, Quo have barely charted in the top 20 since Anniversary Waltz. I think Jam Side Down might be the only one, although that's just off the top of my head. Can't remember where I Didn't Mean It got to. The Stones is an interesting inclusion. Their last really big hit was Start Me Up way back in 1981 (apart from Angry) so it shows when most of their sales happened. You'll Come Round reached 14 and The Party Ain't Over yet reached 11. Think that was the last of them

Fucking awful song. 1 of 3 poorly written Lancaster songs from the Rockin album Don't like this one, but I like You Don't Own Me. Must have something to it. They did play it for a tour or two
