For clarification, I prefer Alan all day long. So I will put it into context.
Jimi Hendrix is technically and musically better than Rick and Francis. But I don't want him playing Caroline

I know we do in our own minds. But we should have a thread praising him.
Is he Alan? Nope. Alan had his own sound and style and made a mark on all us Quo fans that can't be rubbed off.
Rhino is a fantastic bass player. Technically and musically better than Alan. He's a session musician. He's not gonna have a style or stamp on a certain band. He does his best and by Christ, his best was more than good enough. He contributed more to the name Quo than is giving credit for and even in those FTMO editions, where Francis talked down about Rhino's song contributions, they were still welcomed by the fanbase.
I get it. I understand He's not Alan. I know that. But, I for one, will always appreciate the live gigs I saw him with the band. They made my life growing up and had an impact and he should be applauded and appreciated. Top class musician

Something always baffled me about DOTH is the fact Na Na Na was repeated on this album, all be it shorter versions each time. I have never seen this on an album before from any artists. Oasis. The Swamp Song on Morning Glory

Nope. It wouldn't. There's a big difference between stuff like this, Claudie and then stuff post 81. The country stuff post 81 all have the same bass lines, drum patterns and the same vocal delivery. This has a driving bass, great guitar work and some top drumming on it, with a catchy chorus and hook There is unquestionably a generic criticism of anything remotely done in a country style that Quo turn their hand to - unless if it's from the 70's. That, to me, suggests an agenda. And we all know there is one. I stand by it. This song would be criticised if it was recorded today or by any line up since 1986, regardless of the bass, drum patterns or anything else. Praising it would not suit the aforementioned agenda. For some. Don't think so. Take Invitation for example. It's a country song. Don't see much criticism aimed at that. It's got some fantastic musicianship on there and brilliant country guitar from Pip Williams. It's more a case of "Like that" or "No Don't like that" It isn't in Sail Away, Address Book territory

Record it now and he gets criticised beyond reason. I've loved this since the beginning and I also think it contains one of Francis's finest ever solos. From Quo's 'hard rock' album that also includes Break The Rules and Lonely Man. Retrospective perceptions, eh? Very fine, fine, fine 👍 Nope. It wouldn't. Don't mind it.
An attempt at something different. Fine by me. It's the same country song Francis has written for 40 years where my problem lies. Same bass lines, same theme of lyrics, same drums, same strumming patterns etc.

Never heard it. So I've started listening to it on YT. At one min 30, I'm thinking WTF is this. And stopped. I could make a great reaction vid to it, as I've never heard it before. But it would not be favourable. I like ballads and romantic songs. But not this one. And as 4th Chord says, Francis' voice lacks depth to make is work. We also have a long thread on this track from 2022 (13th Dec) 4th Chord Ah, so we do! statusquo.boards.net/thread/16574/leavingLeft on a cliffhanger of a last post by steveb agreeing with something, but we don't know what... He was agreeing with me that Who Gets The Love is a top song. Regardless of whether it's under the name of Quo or not. steveb knows where his bread is buttered. He knows he wants some sugar from daddy

I really like this always have. Whether it’s right for quo or not I don’t care. This and who gets the love I really really like Same. I just can't help but think if Rick sang it or they were given to someone else, they'd have been bigger. Nowt against Francis, he just doesn't have the delivery for these type of songs That said, I like them and at least with that album, they tried something different. As opposed to bog standard country stuff

Only 6 people credit on the album so more than likely it was Rick, Francis, Alan and Andy.
Never underestimate Rick's, Francis' and Alan's harmonies. They were very very good!

We'll soon find out as somebody will set AI to work on it Never thought of that. Dare we look! The one with the artwork the other week was quite cool in places. On the alternate album names, I remember seeing a clip of Rick saying that the soon to be released Whatever You Want album was going to be called Indecent Exposure, but I don't know if that he was being serious or just having a laugh! Clip below. Perfect Remedy was indecent exposure

Met Steel City Quo, Neil and some other fans from the board in Manchester 2013. Great people. Great times.
Neil deleted me off FB. I regularly post shit jokes and my own music. He's clearly not a fan of either

Your avatar was a picture of Plug from The Backstreet Kids Indeed it was. I still remember you making everyone laugh with your posts on the non Quo chat section. There was normally some very heated and very personal comments on some threads but you would post something like “sack Fergie” or “sell Giggs” right in the middle of it. "4 match ban for Evra" too I've gotten more sophisticated now. On social media, when there's a discussion about something or someone changes their profile picture, I tend to post, "In this economy??!?!" in the middle of it. Boils a lot of piss

I can’t remember who the poster was, but I think the quote that nuked the message board was regarding the Bula Quo single. People started posting responses after the track was played on Radio 2 that morning. All of the responses were in the negative but the one that made the mods hit the self destruct button was “Perfect Remedy era B side meets the Um Bongo advert”. Well I've watched episode 1 and it's short, here was me expecting half an hour or something! I do like to hear any chat about individual tracks, albums, riffs, lead breaks etc. Always interesting to hear new stuff. "Just stuff innit?" The end
