For me it was Canberra's Royal Theatre, May 14 2006 during Quo and Deep Purple's 'Double Trouble' tour. The stage is fairly low and I was at the front, when Rick stood directly in front of me,head down, ripping into Big Fat Mama. It was the closest thing to pure rock heaven... his guitar was literally inches from my face as I stood there in awe! letsrock To be that close to the best of rock's rhythm guitarists was a feeling of unbelievable power as he belted away at that Tele for a at least a minute.

The opening to Caroline it represents all that is great about Quo and Rick.
(I wanted to post the 1982 concert version as I like the lighting of the intro but MK is still a good one, Rick leaning on the WOD at the end is a excellent image as well.)

When he told the concierge doorman dude to piss off and let a 15 year old me and a few others into the bar at the Albany Hotel in Glasgow in 1977. He chatted away and posed for photos for about half an hour. No ego. No "superstar" pish. This from a man who, in 1977, was a rock God at his absolute peak. I've never forgotten that. Other so-called "stars" would do well to emulate him. Now THAT is special!

After the support bands done n dusted, and the roadies do their work, lights dim...then Rick rips in with Caroline to blow the cobwebs of day to day life away...fuck yessss!!!

After seeing Quo over a 43 year span, I've only met Rick once and that was at the Polygon Hotel in Southampton on the EOTR tour'84. He was about to get in to a lift, with then girlfriend Debbie Ash, when I asked him for an autograph, he and Debbie got out of the lift and we spent the next 20 minute's talking all things Quo, what a legend, to me he seemed a normal guy having a chat, Alan Lancaster came out of the bar to take a picture of me with Rick & Debbie, followed by Rick taking a picture of me & Alan.

Similar here, at the barrier, right under him in Glasgow 2013 I think, although for me, having just missed the 'glory' years as a youngster, it would be the Glasgow reunion, seeing him back in his element. Meeting him and Nuff at the meet and greet was fantastic.

None exist, I'm afraid. I didn't have a camera in 1977. I was as poor as a church mouse whose wife had just left him, taking all the cheese. Yeah agree same here. Last thing on my mind back in 75,76,and 78 when I saw Quo was a camera....then again wish I did. Fkn cool them gigs eh.
