Where'd you find that? I remember some fullah from the official board knocked out a few of the videos and they're brilliant. Any more? It's maybe the same one? He took archive footage of another gig and mixed it in with the Apollo album. Yes I know. I think the footage was from Spain. I'm sure he knocked another couple out with music from the LIVE album. ROLD springs to mind.

4th, I'd like to request that you pin that link onto the Frantic Four sub board. Those videos are sensational. I thought they were lost forever when the official board shut down. Cheers.

Watching this video of Rick singing Big Fatty...fair dinkum I'll be buggered how they didn't kick the doors down and lift the roof off into America. They'd have blown ACDC out of any hall back then.

You should of mentioned it I'm playing it now, just treating my ears to 4500 Times. Just out of interest was anyone at the best recording of Roll Over Lay Down? If you're talking about the Southend Kursaal recording on my 18th birthday, then I was, I think I've mentioned it once before!!

It was feckin epic, Gaz....the sweat was condensing on the ceiling and falling like rain. The walls were wet with sweat. It was feckin stinking. And still the greatest gigs I've ever been to. Tell me about it. The second time I saw them back in '76, it was December (our Summer) and it was stinkin hot in Sydneys Hordern Pavlion. They had those big fans blowing both side of the stage and Rick, Al, and Francis were in front of them with any opportunity. The place absolutely rocked and me along with the other thousands of delirious punters had a blast. I do remember all the people walking out soaking wet and all those just collapsed in the areas in front of the Pav ears ringing. Great days.

Seeing Parf perform in general is a favourite moment of mine.

Great topic!
Portsmouth Guildhall, and I finished the gig right at the front.
Band were waving to the crowd at the end, and Rick was right in front of me.
There was quite a gap between the stage and the barrier, and I leant forward as far as I could with my arm outstretched wanting to shake his hand.
He saw me, moved forward, began to lean off the end of the stage but then had second thoughts and signaled that the gap was too big, gave me a wave and was off.
But after a minute he came back clearly having changed his mind and went for it!
So I got to shake hands with the Worlds greatest rhythm guitarist!
Make no mistake, he could have easily been pulled forward (he didn't know me from Adam), or have fallen, and it was a pretty high stage with us both at full stretch.
Top bloke!

For me it was Canberra's Royal Theatre, May 14 2006 during Quo and Deep Purple's 'Double Trouble' tour. The stage is fairly low and I was at the front, when Rick stood directly in front of me,head down, ripping into Big Fat Mama. It was the closest thing to pure rock heaven... his guitar was literally inches from my face as I stood there in awe! letsrock To be that close to the best of rock's rhythm guitarists was a feeling of unbelievable power as he belted away at that Tele for a at least a minute. Great topic Gaz and fantastic photo of Rick! Why don't you use it for your avatar for a while!

Yea for me, it was most of not all gigs, ff were special though. I would be in worse form about the current situation if I hadn't seen those.
And I have been lucky to meet him many times, always a gentleman. I remember in Belfast when I was getting a scrap book signed, yes corny I know, he asked to borrow it so that he could read it, i am gonna miss quo live.

I was lucky to be at the front and everyone was soaking wet with sweat. Gross but fabulous at the same time!

I think most of those early gigs were like that, I just remember that time at Wembley as being particularly drenched Other people's sweat obviously, I don't perspire....
