I was drenched at the Crystal Palace Gig '84 and it had nothing to do with sweating.

Yea for me, it was most of not all gigs, ff were special though. I would be in worse form about the current situation if I hadn't seen those. Derry I think must speak for all kinds of Quo fans there. It was fantastic that that should happen before the end of the band's history, I never thought it would, and it shows that we can always hope.

I don't think I have a special Rick moment, I have special Quo moments. But Rickwise, when they did the gig in Birmingham coming back after his cancer scare ... and he starts 4500 Times, one voice and one guitar, and it's Rick, and he's back. He was rough in that gig, but that moment, he was not rough, he was like a bell ringing in the whole hall.
(And when he signed my arm in er 1984? and being Rick, signed up practically the whole arm between my wrist and my elbow.) (It's still there, you just can't see it.)

For me it was Canberra's Royal Theatre, May 14 2006 during Quo and Deep Purple's 'Double Trouble' tour. The stage is fairly low and I was at the front, when Rick stood directly in front of me,head down, ripping into Big Fat Mama. It was the closest thing to pure rock heaven... his guitar was literally inches from my face as I stood there in awe! letsrock To be that close to the best of rock's rhythm guitarists was a feeling of unbelievable power as he belted away at that Tele for a at least a minute. Great topic Gaz and fantastic photo of Rick! Why don't you use it for your avatar for a while! Thanks, viv. Yes it's a great photo of Rick that says it all really. I've already got Rick in my avatar but that one's staying as it reminds me of the golden era, but I'm willing to pass the above photo on to the highest bidder.

I totally understand as your avatar is The classic Quo pose. I chose my previous photo because it has the four of them in it and to me, it is the four of them that made Quo. I will go back to it but just for the moment, I will use another photo I took of Rick in Dublin.... silly and sentimental I know, just my way of showing some love for Rick, having loved Francis for most of my life....

During the Frantics' rehearsal at Shepperton when he sings "I woke up with a hard-on" in Backwater.
Not really. Rick's been so completely consistent over the years it's very difficult to single out a 'moment'. Any time he launches into Caroline basically.

Some great ones on here that I can't hope to match. But I'll never forget my first Quo gig in '88 (not their finest hour granted) but for 15 year old me stood right in front of Rick as he appeared out of the fog, legs apart and launched into Caroline at what seemed like permanent ear damage volume it was a beautiful beautiful moment, that totally reaffirmed to me that I was right and they were the best band in the world.
a close second is when I queued up to get my copy of 'Just for the record' signed and Rick largely ignored me but instead spent some time quite openly trying to chat up my then girlfriend... legend!
