Certainly sounds better live, I'll say that.
Not a favourite of mine really. One of those fast(ish) songs that Quo have tended to come up with quite regularly (Can't Give You More, Dear John, I Didn't Mean It, All Stand Up etc.) which are OK but never the main event. And too often a single, maybe giving credence to those who think they always sound the same but who never hear the albums.
Not the worst, not the best.

At least live it rocks out towards the end but it's still Quo Lite by numbers. Never liked it and never found it appealing in the slightest.
Rossi wrote this one in his sleep.
Whilst we are at it, could this possibly be the worst era for how the band looked on stage?

Always thought it was a badly re-written Caroline, never liked it. In my opinion it is saved from being classed as the worst song on UTI by the existence of Blessed Are The Meek.

This one is not for me.
Think Rossi has his guitar strap too short .

Never minded it on record & live it gets bumped up a bit as you would expect from Quo really.
Yes it is a bit Quo by numbers & as mortified points out they have done a few of these quick paced straight down the line tunes over the years, without any of them I spose really going off on one or in a direction of their own, but still retaining that core rhythm of the overall track.
In some ways when you think of tracks like Paper Plane, Don't Waste My Time, Roll Over Lay Down, Down Down & Whatever You Want etc, whether it's lead breaks, intros, monster riffs, pauses, speed changes, twists & turns or a combination of all, these types of Quo tracks all have that something special that separates them from just being another Quo tune, whilst still being 100% Status Quo.
On the appearance of the band, I'll specifically comment on Rossi. I always felt that 1996 -2001 period seemed to be a bit like a mid life crisis for him especially, he had put significant weight on, hair had gone, seemed a bit lost & depressed at times, then that all seemed to change around the time of Heavy Traffic, within a year of that album, the weight had gone, the energy or spark in his eye was there, the music improved in my opinion & Quo were back to sounding on record more often than not like they were back in the 1970's. Whatever happened, I'm glad he got through it anyway, because in the main, what they've produced since has been pretty good.

Quo by numbers, which is a shame, because there the album was pretty strong, especially for the late '90's.

Awful. Just awful.
Bland Quo-by-numbers filler with a video to suit. Ultra cheapo lowest-common-denominator rubbish and yet more evidence that things had gone horribly, horribly wrong. And yet...
Thank goodness the accompanying album was (for the most part, at least) a colossal improvement. The last few songs on it aren't exactly great but see also 'Heavy Traffic', 'Party'and QPQ.

I saw this live on Ohne Filter prior to getting the UTI album. Live, and as set opener that show, it has some swagger and power. The studio version is missing something; the pieces are there for a grand Quo boogie, but it never quite takes flight.

I think it has to be views through the lens of 1999. For the first time in a decade you could hear rocks guitar.
Sure it’s not one I ever listen to but at the time at least ricks little finger made an appearance.
This however was the first album where I thought they were well and truly on a downward spiral commercially. They hadn’t yet regained their rock royalty reputation, production is muddied as per usual with Mike Paxman but I do give him credit for at least making them sound like they weren’t ashamed to be status quo.
Came about 15 years too late though
