Just looked on Amazon best sellers in popular music. No 1 is Take That and not even been released yet but Quo are no 13 which was much higher than I expected. And most reviews are positive too. www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-Music/zgbs/music

Some constructive and interesting reviews on Amazon.
A refreshing change from the usual on this board.

"I'm awarding Aquostic II one star, not because such an award is merited, but only because Amazon's review feature doesn't permit zero stars or minus stars."

I never again want to hear the sound of an accordion for as long as I live".

Somebody has since posted on Amazon saying that they would love to hear an acoustic version of 4500 Times. Yep,if there's one thing that could improve 4500 Times,it's girly backing singers and some accordion. If they ever do this, then it's time to lobby parliament about updating the blasphemy laws.

There’s talk of a Christmas themed release - “4500 chimes” And the B-side is rumoured to be “Oh, What a ( load of ) shtye”

Here's the full amazon review by a long time fan :
"I've been a fan of Status Quo since 1972, but my enthusiasm for the band has gradually waned over the last three decades due to the inconsistency of their post 1982 output, the majority of which has been mediocre. For me, only the Rock 'Til You Drop, Under The Influence, Heavy Traffic and Quid Pro Quo albums emerge with any credit from this period in the band's history. But with the release of Aquostic II, Status Quo have managed to plumb fresh depths of mediocrity, and have in the process transformed themselves from a world-class rock band to a second-rate folk rock ensemble.
Aquostic II has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and is, by a country mile, the worst collection of songs to have ever been recorded under the name of Status Quo. By contrast, duff albums such as Famous In The Last Century, Don't Stop, Bula Quo, Perfect Remedy, Ain't Complaining, In The Army Now and Back To Back begin to sound positively brilliant. That's how bad Aquostic II is. To say that this album is complete and utter dirge from beginning to end would be a massive understatement. If making albums as poor as this was a criminal offence, Status Quo would then surely find themselves on trial at the Hague, for Aquostic II is a heinous musical crime. I never again want to hear the sound of an accordion for as long as I live.
Three Quo classics, Roll Over Lay Down, Backwater and Hold You Back, have been mercilessly butchered, and listening to the musical murder of these three songs was a painful experience that I never again intend to willingly put myself through. The three new songs, One For The Road, One Of Everything and Is Someone Rocking Your Heart? are absolutely atrocious, with One For The Road being a very strong contender as the worst-ever song that bears the name of Status Quo. Come home Margaruieta Time, all is forgiven.
It gets worse .... Francis Rossi hinted in a recent radio interview that a third acoustic album consisting exclusively of material that was originally recorded post 1985 is a distinct possibility. Perish the thought. With Rick Parfitt most unlikely to return to the band, and with no new electric material scheduled to be recorded in the future, Status Quo as we knew them are finished. What a sad ending to the long and illustrious career.
I'm awarding Aquostic II one star, not because such an award it is merited, but only because Amazon's review feature doesn't permit zero stars or minus stars."
Cheers

I think i'd probably enjoy the aquostic stuff more if i was nearly 68 instead of nearly 48...... Interesting. I felt with recent CQ winter tours that if you looked at the whole package (ie the support act) it was being aimed at people in their 60's. I'm also in my 40's. That said, I would like to think I'll be listening to better music than A2 in 20 years time!

Yeah i think you're probably right about the CQ winter tours....think it was 2011 last time i saw a CQ gig, maybe 2012, not sure but i know it was Joe Brown who was supporting, so yeah, they were definetly catering for an audience in their 60's. I haven't been since the 2013 reunion tour, (wolverhampton civic) i'm glad that was the last quo show i'll ever attend. (probably)

I haven't bought the CD and I've heard only 2 tracks, That's A Fact & In The Army Now, on Radio 2 yesterday and 14 seconds of ROLD, which was 14 seconds too much.
