No it doesn't matter if its selling well. Out of curiosity I looked to see how it was doing on Amazon and never expected to see it so high in the charts after hanging out on here. So I thought I share my surprise.
Farewell Catlady. I had first spotted that your post was also your valediction. Do return if you fancy some more Quo banter.
And PF, good point. I didn't know that about Amazon reviews though it doesn't surprise me.
Besides, it doesn't even make sense. Amazon relies on happy & satisfied customers. Imagine what'd happen if a product was obviously faulty and Amazon skewed the reviews so that people were fooled into thinking they were buying something better than they actually get. And "they" don't post reviews, users do. Amazon has no interest whatsoever in being flooded with complaints from buyers - that's why the review feature is there anyway, and I've seen really meaningless or bizarre 1-star reviews remain for years without ever being "filtered".
What's true is that the amount of negativity about the band has increased. Comments under facebook or YouTube posts are a testament to that, and I'm sure our resident backseat driver will have a whole lot of clap-trap to say about that. But imo, a lot of it really germinates in the Rick situation, how it's been handled & how it leaves the band in a very weird place. All of that has little to do with the album.
In the end, rossiswaistcoat is absolutely correct; commercial performance DOES matter. Remember Perfect Remedy?
