To be fair you said name a band over a 15 year period. ZZtop in essence havent changed at all in tbat period. So I was pretty much saying from 2016-2001. I think you could also argue Status Quo in that time period in terms of original albums have been in the same groove in thst time. The only diffetence being the variance in the song quslity. I accept bands change rarely do they continue to improve with age. Quo havent recorded a seminal album in decades. I didn't mean the exact period 2001-2016, I rather referred to the time between 70's and 80's (or even within a broader timeframe - 60-70's, 80-90's)as we were comparing Lonely Night and Magic. Quo have recorded a very strong line of albums in the last 25-35 years. Not all of them are to my liking, not all of them have the right production, but the overall quality is quite decent compared to any other rock band that has existed for more than 25 years.

We just disagree which is fine. Status Quo in the last 35 years have recorded a handful of decent albums. But compared against bands in the same time period, although that can be difficult Status Quo to me have been subpar for a very long time. It speaks volumes on my iPod I have at most tracks from 3 albums after 1981. Very strong not at all, for me, occasionally not bad but most have been dreadful to me. Why? They are a different band with input from different song writers that are not as good as the Frantic Four were in the 1970s

Thanks for that I went right through the thread looking for the URL ... :-)
He didn't say he was going to do Electrics again. he said that he felt the call again even though he thought he was giving it up. He was talking about how he feels. He always does that. We can't tell what he will do.
I like the retake of ITAN, but I always liked the song, and it hasn't got too much flim flam on it. IF only I could file off the girly voices, which add nothing to it, I would really like the new take on That's a Fact. They should sell a version of albums where you can clip out some of the recording tracks if you want to. Surely Technology can run to that?? I see a whole new market here! I have no conscience in messing about with my heroes' "vision".
I have an uneasy feeling that apart from the stuff I hate, I like this one better than the first one. But I don't do Spotify, so I won't hear all the tracks for some time.
Got Capt Sensible doing "Happy Talk" on the telly. Great song, not as good as the "South Pacific" version.
