It's just occurred to me that this tour is the perfect opportunity for them to play whatever they want to play. If one of the reasons they stick to the same old same old is to not scare off the punters to ensure they get returning bums on seats the following year, then they can now throw caution to the wind and play what they want to play. I've got high hopes for 4500 Times making a return, and also Don't Waste My Time. Careful what you wish for LPB , your just a sprinkling of sand away from Quo's version of Wilson, Kepple and Betty version of Gerdundula !

Francis says in the recent Guitar & Bass interview that he is happy that some of the material from the band's latter years is on the Accept No Substitute CDs. So I'd be grateful if Quo played some of their more recent material (what is 'recent' seen in a 50-year-time span?) on their final electric tour. Now that would be something. Theoretically I'd be grateful for any worthwhile changes to be honest, as long as they amount to something greater than simply shuffling the deck of cards/window dressing in the guise of taking two or three semi resident songs and replacing them with another two or three semi resident songs. The way they do with songs like SYBIL and The Wanderer changing places for example. Yawn...
Those changes would also need to be CQ songs, and not copies of window dressed semi permanent FF songs (like Softer Ride or Little Lady for example) Once again...Yawn...
I'm not going to the gigs anyway, but it would take some decent innovative surprises to make me start regretting that decision. I can't see that happening.

i Agree with you, go out with a bang you never know may happen we,ll have more of a idea when thay play blackpool ? I agree as you know with the principle here, but I can't see it happening. The band and management won't see it as an opportunity to play with a free spirit. Simply a last chance to do what they always do with the usual set.
In an ideal world I much rather see an FF gig play 4500X and Don't Waste My Time (and CQ concentrate on playing their own catalogue)
But its not going to happen
There is always hope.

Let me add something to that, Catlady. Don't get me wrong. It's not that I mean to be unrealistic. I know very well what they have been doing and generally agree with just about everything you have written about it. But.. yea well... all I can say is that hope sometimes leads to strange surprises... I prefer to have hope untill i actually see the moment that something is proven. I don;t like painting devils on the wall beforehand, it's just how I think.

I think there is a higher chance of the FF appearing again than CQ pulling a rabbit out of the hat with their set list.
That would meet my priority preference anyway, if it did happen.
At the end of the day its only music though in the bigger picture, and it won't stop the world revolving round, if nothing happens

Oh I have the same priority preference, believe me ! Yea, it's only music in the bigger picture, true... but for "only being music in the end" it brought a lot of things and experiences in my life that no other music has to that level
