Travelled over from England for the Olympia Dublin gig, and absolutely loved it - fabulous little venue with standing in the stalls. Stood next to another couple who had also travelled over - they were from Hastings. Felt the concert had great energy, and a healthy mix of old and new. Of course, everyone has a different view about what they should play, but no complaints from me. Definitely a little rustiness - as acknowledged by Francis on stage - but I am sure that they will tighten up as the tour progresses. To whoever mentioned Francis’ shoes above, he told us at the beginning that, in getting everything togther for their first concerts in 2.5 years, someone had mislaid a small box of shoes - hence the unusual footwear. Apparently Rhino was wearing a pair of £32 trainers he had bought from Sketchers in Belfast ! My only concern - being the bluff old traditionalist that I am - was only having one encore. I had enjoyed Paper Plane, and was thinking I was looking forward to Burning Bridges and Bye Bye Johnny, when Francis pulled out his in-ear monitors and that was it. Seemed a very odd way to end, and not sure whether it was anything to do with a lack of rehearsal or energy, but I would love to think that both will be back in the set when I take my children to see them at G Live in Guildford in ten days time. I have finally got around to signing up to this forum mainly so I can track the set list over the next ten days … p.s. my avatar is a picture taken by my wife on Monday night ! Welcome to the reason why the internet was a good idea.

I wouldn't expect Bye Bye Johnny to be making a comeback. They retired that one on the Back! On Tour - Tour.

If one full track was to be added to the encore I think I would opt for Don't Waste My Time, but I can certainly take something like Burning Bridges too.
Not too fussed about Bye Bye Johnny, just because they stopped playing it in full, for me if they did decide to play it again, I'd get Rhino to do the full version!

Bye bye Johnny should have been put out to pasture years ago.
POMM, Paper plane and then don’t waste my time to finish Would be a great encore

Never mind the songs, having watched a few videos of last night, am i right in saying this is the first time in over 50 years that Francis hasn't worn the trademark (mostly) white trainers/plimsoles/gym shoes??? To whoever mentioned Francis’ shoes above, he told us at the beginning that, in getting everything togther for their first concerts in 2.5 years, someone had mislaid a small box of shoes - hence the unusual footwear. Apparently Rhino was wearing a pair of £32 trainers he had bought from Sketchers in Belfast ! Indeed they're back: Quite like the setlist and really like the live version of Get out of my head - although I think Matt is right, some sort of backing track there, especially the intro, the re-start after the break in the middle and the outro. Not too sure about Backing Off, never really liked it on BB and definitely sure of not liking Oriental and BOTE still getting played live. And PP as the only encore seems a bit...underwhelming. But better than no encore at all as it was on the last gigs of 2019. All in all it was great to see them walking out on a stage again (even if it only was on YT for me) and they sounded really good. May be tempted to go to my hometown gig Stuttgart in November...let's see!

Good idea to change the setlist, but this one is too much of a plodder for me. Time for a beer?

Did the Liverpool gig on Saturday. Told myself I'd probably have to take it easy. Been a while. But then you get there Bl00dy hell, it hurts this morning! I've got the worst Quo neck I've had in years Tried to do the gig with a mask on. Completely impractical. Kept slipping down. So if we don't catch Quovid from this, we never will. The gig was excellent. If I'm being picky (and this would be very picky), I'm not sure about the new tracks as live songs. Cut Me Some Slack certainly works but the other three, good as they are as songs, I'm not sure about. But that happens. I felt the same about Looking Out For Caroline for example. And probably quite a few albums before that. Highlight of the show (for me) was Softer Ride. It's just such a magnificent beast. And a full length Little Lady will always be welcome. I now know why we do less gigs though. The travelling is a fvckin' nightmare. Up at the crack (i.e. still dark) on Saturday morning and 8 hours and 3 trains later, we finally get to our Liverpool hotel. Every train we were on was rammed to the rafters as well. It was the same on the way back. Great gig; rubbish travel; terrific hotel. We're back in the routine. And despite my excessive moaning, it's actually good to be back

Good idea to change the setlist, but this one is too much of a plodder for me. Time for a beer? That was the summary of a friend (a music fan rather than a Quo fan) who attended one of the concerts. Overall they were glad they went and enjoyed it but concluded that it was good in parts but also monotonous, dull and unexciting for large parts. I don't think they knew which songs were new material, etc., but it did appear that these songs stopped the flow for them and they only mentioned the songs they knew from the 1970's albums they own and have listened to as highlights. They did not regret going and stressed they enjoyed the night out and the concert, thought the 'musicians' were good etc., but also said they would not have a desire to see them again.

But I do like Backing Off, a lot, and so did she!!

At my age. Coz, after the fact, it's pretty embarrassing I guess I should count myself lucky that I still have the energy to do it. But, as I noticed when I got up on Sunday morning, my body is becoming increasingly concerned and it let me know about it Ach, this was a Quo gig. Got to have fun. It's the law
