Exactly. And this is something they’ve should have done the whole time even when Rick was still alive. The only ones who would be happy about throwing newer songs in the set would be the real fans of the band, obviously they wouldn’t take away the biggest hits, they can still open with Caroline if they want and Whatever you want along with rocking all over the world would still be in the set. But throw in more songs from albums like perfect remedy and onwards. it’s weird that they never did try it anyways when Burning Bridges been a crowd pleaser over the years in the set. It would be really cool to see a set where at least 70-80% of the material consists of post 86 songs. And I’m also sure that they would have gotten more respect if they done that instead of going the route they did. Respect from who? The hardcore would drift away even faster if classic FF songs were jetisoned and the average Joes who make up most of Quo's present audience wouldn't have a clue what the songs were. They should have rotated their setlist back in the 70s but didn't and now it's too late. You have to play what your audience wants to hear, that or occasionally play a rarities gig but that takes hard work and Francis has never been willing to put in the effort in the rehearsal room. From FF fanatics. The average Joe doesn’t know Rain or Mystery Song either, definitely not Softer ride or Don’t drive my car. These songs could easily have been replaced with newer songs during the years.

"Fanatics" You've gotta be joking me...So only people who have a religious, excessive, obsessive zeal for the FF know those songs? Average Joe may not know them but, to suggest only "fanatics" know them is a bit much

Fanatic is a word that suggests you have an excessive, unhealthy knowledge/love for something. Put it this way, I ain't a fanatic about Perfect Remedy but, I know the songs on there, unfortunately

Thanks for taking time to respond to my comment paradiseflatsI don't really understand what you're getting at other than you don't like the way he responds. Such is life. We rarely get what we want but we hopefully get what we need. I must admit, I don’t understand your reply either. However let’s draw a line over any replies etc. It will do neither of us any good.

Add to the list of topics about Status Quo which go into the void, but nothing changes.
I know it’s discussed at length again elsewhere.
The whole why don’t they change the set list.
The one thing I will say. Remember in the old days, when people wanted to avoid set list spoilers. So they would enjoy the surprises in a set list.

I can't wait for the day when bubbles going back to being just something in a drink or something little kids blow. This isn’t related to a certain dead American pop star is it ? Ahem, yes well - I always thought it odd that his statue was outside Craven Cottage, when you'd expect him to be a West Ham fan!

The whole set list issue is a bit of a double edged sword. I always thought that the set list should have evolved so as to incorporate more current material, but I wasn't arsed either way as I wasn't going to attend those gigs anyway. Even up to the EOTR they were only playing material up to 1980, this was in both '82 & '84. However, I can understand a degree of caution as when you look back at the reunion tours there were clearly a fair few who attended expecting to hear Rockin' All Over The World, Whatever You Want - probably In The Army too!
I wonder if they were the same people who were lucky enough to get tickets to see Kate Bush, only to come out complaining that she hadn't played all the hits as part of the mammoth production they were fortunate enough to see live! Pearls before swine, imo.

Got relegated too as soon as they removed it "He's my friend" is not a good reason to put a statue up of someone Still though, I bet the even the statue changed it's fucking setlist!
