It's just a massive shame how so many of the tapes from the gig are missing. The individual camera reels, vision mix reel, full gig mix and the VideoForm master reels gone... The only existing footage is the Channel 5 Master Reels (2nd Gen copies) and a VHS Vision Mix tape which is a different edit to what we got... and the full show exists on '15' 24track master reels. It's a whole mess with who owns the rights to it as well due to every company (or the majority of) that released it / worked on it has since gone under, except from Trinifold. So it's a whole toss up between whether it's Trinifolds or Universals material... Universal only took over one of the distributors of the release, Channel 5, who was taken over in 1991 by PolyGram which is owned by Universal. Cheers God, I actually understood most of that!!
Y'know what I'd [almost] settle to hear the full gig in decent quality audio! But it'd have to include ALL the songs, all FR's chat and the full version of '45k Times' - doesn't seem a lot to ask but given Quo's record with historical data I'm not holding my breath! It is one confusing situation! One of Quo's best gigs (if not the best) and its such a mess. The VHS Vision Mix contains full songs (except Forty Five Hundred Times which is missing from that tape), Rossi's talking in full and footage of the band coming on stage, albeit we see a little bit of that in the More From release. The whole thing was a mess to begin with back in '84. Mixed / Overdubbed in September, Footage was edited in October and released in November... one rushed release. I too would love the full audio of the gig released, spread over multiple discs with everything, not one single bit edited out. Cheers

I like to see that the Laserdisc version doesn't have the tape fault on Mystery Medley at last!
Do you know if the audio from the Laserdisc was ripped in lossless?
Great version Quoincidence! Waiting to see your remaster finally release!
By the way, just out for curiosity, The EOTR laserdisc has 1 or 2 sides?

Waiting to see your remaster finally release! By the way, just out for curiosity, The EOTR laserdisc has 1 or 2 sides? Laserdiscs are always converted to the best possible quality. If you want I could get the RAW file and send you the audio rip. And yes, the fault during the Milton Keynes Medley is only present on the Channel 5 releases. Instead of using the Videoform master reels, they decided to copy them to another set of tapes, worsening the footage quality and leaving us with glitches from faulty copying. Cheers

Thanks Luke for your great job👍 Did you get in touch with Colin Johnson? I think he has come rare footage from the final gig (taken from the Interview DVD with Gerard Rappard 11.12.2011) Do you know about the Interview?

Someone else has been trying to contact him in regards to that footage and other things Quo but there's just no contact information for him. Gerard gave us an E-mail address that just bounces back, so currently there is no way of contacting him unless someone on here knows or is close to Colin, which I doubt sadly... And the other thing is, would he be willing to help Quo? Then again, it would paint him in a better picture / light if he finally helped out a band he screwed over massively during the period. and thank you! QL

Well the "remaster" is done and uploading to YouTube for a premiere next Saturday.
I'm unhappy with the colours here and there on the MFTR footage as it looks too saturated, and the saturation wasn't even touched on the project.. I even had to bring the reds down a bit as it was bleeding out but doesn't seem to have done much! So apologies.
I'm sure you'll all enjoy it

This is as close to a dream come true, with regarding is elusive concert being released... I have been waiting for this to come out for years, as I know you have been working on it for quite a long time I believe. Thank you so much mate!
Will this be uploaded at full HD?
Also, just out of interest...have you ever gotten confirmation that the full unedited audio tapes actually exist? I only ask, as I have been saying that they do exist, for years... as the guys who did the documentary for the Pictures blu ray release, had come across these tapes in searching for archive material for their documentary... and they confirmed this on the old message board... I only wish I had copied that discussion, as many people have said that I'm either lying or that it's total nonsense.

They were found in Rossi's studio a long with a couple other things including the Rockin' All Over The World master tapes, which may have been copies not originals, as the guy who's archiving Quo's material also has some Rockin' Master Reels. They also got the 2 edited master footage reels around that time, but I'm not sure as to whether they came from Universals archives or from Trinifold. And yes it will be in HD but the More From The Road footage isn't as crystal clear as the EOTR footage, sadly... but as I've said in a new thread, I'm already planning on working on a redux of the remaster, individually recolouring each separate camera angle instead of doing it as a whole. Cheers

Myself and the gentleman digitising all these tapes for the archive talk regularly... I'm not sure exactly what came from Rossi's archive but the MK tapes and the RAOTW tapes did... There's at least 4 CD's worth of unreleased material, excluding alt mixes and live recordings Cheers

So Francis just has stuff laying around that he didn't know was there? Why would he not approach the label to release it if he has it? Just put it out like the live at NEC re-release.

IF the rights situation could be cleared, they could do a 2CD + DVD/BD set. Full gig remixed on the CDs plus the edited videos. It might also be possible to "complete" the video with audience filmed bits and still pictures from Bob Young's vaults, as a fresh 5.1 mix of the entire gig is nothing to be sneezed at. Supertramp's Live in Paris was done a bit like this, although some songs had no footage at all and therefore were only presented as bonus material with some computer-animated graphics.
