It's a good album...With the exception of Tommy. I like Army and AC for different reasons...Probably because I can separate them from what Quo were actually supposed to be and what came before them but, RTYD has a "post 86 Quo vibe" that they were so inconsistent on capturing. However, with the original suggestion by David Walker that this be a covers album along with the fact Francis, by his own admission, didn't know what to do with the band, this album should have been a wake up call! Francis, letting his ego get in the way and Rick letting his dick get in the way, brought Thirsty Work to fruition. Looking back on it, it's incredible to see how it panned out. * * Nowt particularly wrong with Thirsty Work but, it's clear as day it's a Francis solo album with a few Quo by numbers tracks he decided to toss in...And a song for Rick to sing for the sake of it I don’t know what Francis could have done? The sound of Thirsty Work aside, Rick wasn’t contributing in the writing department at all. And he didn’t want to sing Sherri either , so that why Francis ended up doing it in an unsuitable key as it had been recorded apart from the vocals Then you re-record it or leave it off the album. Restless too. Can't understand how that was deemed the best cut. It's the same with PR. Both he and Rick are as much to blame. I'm just baffled at how RTYD wasn't a turning point. Then again, I thought UTI, HT and ISOTFC were gonna be too

This is fun Let's see what else we can find Reminds me of the Queen at Wembley 86 gig that was released. The official release sounds good but the bootleg shows it to be riddled with mistakes, vocal issues and a lot more...Basically, it didn't seem to be their usual high standard performance

Curry cheese chips with fried eggs. Always have that after I come home from a night of drinking somewhere...Needless to say, I'll be dead by the time I'm 40 Have you ever thought of opening a restaurant? I did actually, funnily enough...No money though.

Y'know the one, where you put the hands on the hips and swing from side to side? Yeah, that one...Anyone who has ever done that in their lives, please step forward now so you can be shamed!! I've never seen it done in my life at a Quo gig and it's fabulously cringey, eyeball rolling and it gives me the shits Eat plenty of eggs and cheese, my father used to call cheese "bung" for the effect it had on him. Genuinely makes me feel unwell seeing people do it As soon as I saw them start doing it on the recent charity video with Leon for Rockin, I had to turn it off That's where I saw it from too. It brought it all back. I tried to repress it but, there it was again, haunting me...Taunting me. Traumatic

See your point but... There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. I wouldn't be dishing a fellow artist like that, especially when they play the same type of music and their output was miles ahead of anything I had produced in 9 years (1972 - 1981) Alright to be critical of a song but, he sounds totally dismissive of them as a band, which is amusing to me I’m no big fan of the Stones. Far from it. I do love some of their output. I certainly wouldn’t be as critical of their output post 1972. Although no expert. Jagger himself is a bit like Francis. Both piss poor away from their bands. I’d agree Francis has produced much better music than Jagger since the early 70s. Reminds me of a story I read recently. Freddie Mercury was supposed to record a duet with Michael Jackson in 1982, for the song, "State of Shock" Didn't work out so Jagger got the gig in 1983 Upon arriving into the studio, Jackson heard Mick singing and it was apparently awful. Thinking it was due to a lack of a warm up, Jackson thought it would be good for both to do some warm up vocal exercises and scales. Despite this, to Jackson's ears, Mick's singing was still bad...It then dawned on him that this was just how Jagger's voice was and how he sang. Jagger done two takes and that was the end of that session, leaving Jackson in disbelief

I find this thread pretty funny. He doesn’t say anything fans of the band haven’t said, never mind the wider public. What next a my dads harder than your dad thread. See your point but... Right place, right time. I say that as a fan of the Stones As for Mick Jagger...Given his output since 1972, probably best he pipe down with the criticism Although, WYP on record ain't up to much. Good song live though Maybe it is one of those 'you had to be there' kind of band Ah The Stones in/on their day are/were a fantastic band...Good swing to them, good rock n roll. Lost something massive when Brian Jones died or was sacked. However you wanna put it From an output point of view though, the well dried up in 1972 in my opinion.

Assume that was dubbed in after? Yeah. They didn't start using stage tapes until 1977 and that was just for the Intro / Outro Drones Was thinking. The tempo isn't the same the whole way through and they didn't have click tracks back then. Also, what's the story with the double mics?
