Flick has some class tunes tbf The title track, Nervous Shakedown, Landslide, Guns For Hire. It's as good as For Those About To Rock. It's what came after it is the problem Flick may not be their best but I do love it. Especially the production. Some very good rock songs but no where near Powerage or Let there be rock. Yeah Powerage, Let There Be Rock, HTH, BIB, are not going to be bettered

I think the version from the NEC gig in 1989 is brilliant...Or would have been brilliant if it went on longer.
It's pretty much the same tempo as the record, lots of energy, Rick's voice is spot on.
Very lazy not to do a full version...The last line up with Rick done a longer version and Francis wasn't arsed playing the solo so, that was a bit shit

Bought it this morning on vinyl. Will listen at some point.
Massive AC/DC fan but, since Flick Of The Switch, some albums have been hit and miss. Rock or Bust , I listened to once and never again. Blow Up Your Video has one or two good tunes on there. Stiff Upper Lip is good. Razor's Edge is good in places.
Ain't listened to the latest one yet but, looking forward to it

Coming and going is a great song. Strange to say why it’s all written in one chord really. I think I just like repetitive grooves It's played in a different tuning and there are very subtle chord changes that aren't particularly high in the mix. The chorus being an example. It's the pounding drive it has, along with the melody, harmonica, the heaviness and Rick's voice is spectacular on it. If Alan or Francis sang on it, it wouldn't be as liked I don't think

Francis wanted rid of Alan, Ginger Baker was Alan on steroids. No way would that have ever happened

Primal Scream - Country Girl AC/DC - Go Down
I remember thinking The Way You Make Me Feel and Gold On The Ceiling were Quo sounding but, that was just because of the rhythm of both songs, nowt else
Pretty much any Oasis song between 1994 and 1997, especially Digsy's Dinner and It's Getting Better Man

Sooooooooooooo According to Francis, they couldn't get a promotor in Australia for the FF but, they could get a promotor for the other line up with Rick, who couldn't sell out a venue and recently got a promotor for this line up, for a gig on a cruise ship? The man doesn't half talk bollocks

I think it was only ever going to be Pete that replaced him.
I believe Alan when he says neither he nor Rick thought it was permanent and that it would blow over. Francis just wanted someone who wouldn't step out of line and someone who would do as Francis told him. History has repeated itself since. Is what it is.
I love Pete, Jeff and Matt. Leon is a very good drummer but, never seen him live.
To me, JC just has it, whatever it is! Same with Alan, same with Rick, same with Francis. It's why I think(know) Francis and his whole "it's all nostalgia" crap he spouts about the FF tours is all a front. He knows what we know. He won't admit it because that means admitting he was wrong and proving others right. Francis doesn't like being wrong.
You can replace all four with better players and it'll more than likely be a lot better...But, it'll miss what made Quo what it was and what made us fall in love with them.

Also, Electric Arena is let down by the guitar sound and tame backing track. Literally no reverb on the song at all Well, the song does have reverb. You can clearly hear it if you isolate the side channel. Maybe just doesn't have enough to your taste. The snare could have a bit more depth, I agree with that. It was compared to Gary Moore at the time. If so, the reverb was thrown on it from a distance I don't know, it just sounds dry and flat for some reason. The title of the song probably made me expect something else

My problem, I would never allow anyone to make a song of mine sound as harsh as that, but I suppose there are many fans of this production style, so it just ain't for me. Guess I'm an old fart even if I'm younger than you! (I just would like to hear the elements more clearly...) Nah, it's cool I want criticism! I want people to tell me what they don't like! You're the second person who mentioned the production so that's got me thinking for the next one

Always figured Twenty Wild Horses was perfectly fine and a brilliant wee pop song as is, as is the rest of the album, especially Little White Lies. It's like listening to the outro of The Chain and not liking Dreams or Little White Lies because they're not driven to all fuck. Quo were as good a pop band as they were a rock band, although they were a pop band first and foremost, hence why ABBA liked 'em... Agree about UTI as an album. Never knew ABBA liked them

Marguerita Time...Seriously. Good lyrics, good melody, good chord progression, would have made a killer slow blues song. Potentially could have been one of the best songs they ever done...
Much of TPAOY album
I kinda prefer Twenty Wild Horses how it is. It suits how Francis sings the song

I’ll PM @bluehighway and collaborate with him... who knows a worldwide hit?🤔😉 Probably! We can get freewilly to play on it and I can manage the band. I'll play as long as I get a cricket bat too
