Pretty woeful album and easily the one I have played less than any other record that featured Alan. However, I think the latter few albums (B2B, NTL, 1982) are below standard - or generally getting worse - due to the issues within the band at the time, drugs, getting burned out from the constant touring, complacency etc, whereas the ones that followed are poor because of a conscious effort by Francis to change the sound and distance the new band from the old one.
Therefore, I can cut Back To Back some slack for being poor, but there is no excuse for AC, PR, TW etc.

I like the songs but Alan’s writing from that period used the bass root note under shifting chords to create a vibe. I asked him about it on Facebook years ago when he first appeared, pre reunion, as I thought it was interesting that the bass play write so many songs where the bass played the same root note. He said “yeah, it’s more to do with the groove of the song” So really it’s not bollocks. Not is it a criticism. It’s why his songs have a feel from that era Wind my neck in? FFS Pal, you worded it like that's all his bass playing was, which I rightly called as bullshit I called you out on it, you explained your wording and what you meant and now I know what you meant (thought you meant overall but see what you mean re Over The Edge, Coming and Going Etc), fair enough, case closed! When I read it, I thought you were talking about TCTTG, others from B2B and back before 1980 and it was nonsensical to me It's a forum! It's meant for debate and for people to be questioned. Granted, you don't know me and I tend to get passionate about music but zero hot headness on my part For the record, if you're calling for me to wind my neck in, you should have had it with Teleboogie, Fisherman, Quozone, Ricky (RIP) or Barejear * *I'll let others fill you in on them. Forum legends of old EDIT: I see you edited out the wind your neck in part...Honestly, I get passionate about music I love. Zero anger or whatever from me. I remember them all. I was about member number 120 on the old board and joined in about 1998 or whenever it started. My old user name was MATT
