Win Or Lose is dreadful TCTTG is brilliant and would have been an all time classic if Rick had sang it. MT is one of the worst Quo songs I've ever heard. GDTT is rubbish. Remix is better. Ol' Rag Blues is class Mess of Blues is a decent cover Can't Be Done is just Quo by numbers No Contract I like Stay The Night I don't particularly mind. You're Kind Of Love I really like. The vocals, the guitar and the bass
However, if we go by the latest setlist, the following albums are represented...
Hello BFY OTL ISOTFC RAOTW The Medley has JS, Ma Kelly's, Dog and Heat HT Army WYW Piledriver
With the exception of NTL, I can't argue with the albums represented there

I'd take Win Or Lose over You're Kind Of Love any day.
What a f*cking awful song. It's the only song, besides the album version of GDT, that I skip on the Back To Back album.
No Contract I don't mind, but it's not a song I'd choose to listen to from the album on its own.

You blast out MT and Win Or Lose and skip Your Kind Of Love?....Reckon your neighbours are worried about you Win Or Lose sounds like an outtake from Flying Debris, that was written and recorded in 15 mins. Absolute puke music!

Absolute puke music! It's boring, there's nothing redeeming about it. It just drags on. Marguerita Time is a song I've always loved, and I won't deny that. There's not a massive list of Lancaster penned tracks that I do genuinely like... how they ever played shite like "Gonna Teach You To Love Me" live, I'll never know. Not that there are many tracks on that album that would have worked live - Long Legged Linda probably could have. I understand why they did it, so each one of them had a track off of the new album to sing live, but both of his contributions to that album were awful.

Gonna Teach You To Love Me, whilst I am not a fan of it, is 1000X the live song that MT is... Shot in the dark here but, I'm gonna guess the Lancaster songs are A Year, Backwater, Just Take Me and Is There A Better Way

I also like his contributions from the 60s. For Lancaster, some of his songs from ROATW (album), including it, and forward are very sub-par, in my opinion. They are the weakest of the albums they belong to.

Ha, fair enough...I sometimes forget how revisionism is a thing

You Don't Own Me is another awful track that somehow made its way to the live set

Run To Mummy is alright (the instrumentation that is), and Don't Drive My Car i've always been a fan of but I don't think it's ever been done justice live. Studio version is better

'Your Kind Of Love' did seem very middle of the road, especially considering it came from the desk of Alan. Musically nothing wrong with the track as such, but a bit tame and actually prefer some tracks off Rossi's somewhat hit n' miss 'King Of The Doghouse' album, as some kind of comparison.
Alan should have tried to sell 'Your Kind Of Love' to bands such as Styx, Reo Speedwagon or one of his favourite bands Toto. Though 'Your Kind of Love' and 'Who Asked You' are poles apart to me, the latter being top drawer.

I wish they'd put Hard Ride on the WYW album instead of High Flyer, but i suppose HF fits the 'concept' of the album and i guess was written with that very much in mind.

Hence my very recent discovery it was co-written with another guy (see post further up) - who knows who wrote the lion's share? Maybe Alan only did the lyrics. Who knows.
It's lacking that 'Quo chug' in the guitar department, that's for sure, and it's not alone there, but for an Alan song, you'd hope there would be more guitars up front.
