This won't be a perfect timeline..so feel free to add to, and afterwards, if you still want to support the current pathetic band, good luck to you.
After 2014, FF- was pretty clear that Francis made it clear it wouldn't be happening again, regardless of Ricks view.
Francis done a radio interview that made it clear, Rick could head off and do PLC
Reports in media that they no longer spoke.
Appostic was recorded largely without Rick, and a dog in the street could see Rick wasn't happy.
For some reason Freddie played guitar on Appistic
the band started to play gigs without Rick, and used insurance as an excuse, when in fact they have cancelled many times because of Francis
they announce last electric tour, and Rick admits its more about what Francis wants than anyone else.
they choose to continue on with the last electric tour, even if you believe the insurance shite, why does Francis have to talk about how good the band are now and how great Richie is, without one mention of Rick
Rick announces that he wants to be a rocker and is fit but choosing to leave quo. Within hours Porter announces that despite press statements to the contrary , Rick will still be involved with quo, something not right there.
Rick sends initial draft of autobiography to publishers, highlighting the problems with Francis.
feel free to add, but Rick has been treated appallingly, and no doubt I believe died in a very unhappy way with the way he was treated.
I hope lynsey finishes the book, the truth about this pathetic band should be told.

I'm not going to lie...
There is far too much evidence against Rossi.
Not just for Rick but, Alan too
People are saying it's tabloid bullshit or that no one knows for certain etc but, there is a quote from Rick in the article. It's not "insiders say" or "sources say," it's actually a quote attributed to Rick
It might have been a different story if it was just Rick but, it's Rick, Alan and John who have all said it. That's no media bullshit or a coincidence

Look I know you don't like Francis but just step back and see the bigger picture this is not all about Rick being kicked to the kerb. Rick admitted in a Radio interview from Dec 15 that a week after finishing he was still feeling run down.
Regarding FF if Alan is so sick that he cannot make a trip to his best mates funeral then there is no way he was getting back on stage with the other 3. I think the poor guy has a serious nerve problem and I don't think it's all caused by anxity. I know someone with similar symptoms to Alan and she has been diagnosed with ME.

I'm not Francis's greatest fan but it's worth remembering that every band worth it's salt needs a band leader and that's a job he's taken on regardless of whether others agreed with him taking that mantle, however what comes with this is certain responsibilities that involves making decisions that won't always be popular, in many ways it's like being a section manager in the 9-5 world most of us inhabit.However he doesn't help himself with how he comes across in interviews, not the normal tabloid, jokey stuff, but when questioned about things that true fans care about, such as the FF shows in 13 - 14, he was so dismissive and negative about an event that for many, myself included will forever hold a special place in my heart and mind
One of the problems i believe is that Quo pays the bills, gives him the lifestyle he enjoys and has become accustomed to, however do i think he likes being in Quo and playing the tracks the fans want to hear then the answer is no, it's essentially a means to an end, i'm sure most bands get p*ssed off playing the same old stuff year after year on tour but Francis goes beyond that.
Another band leader without a doubt is Steve Harris of iron Maiden but you know that whilst i'm sure he has days when he's thinking "oh ffs not Number of the Beast again" you know underneath he lives, sleeps and breathes Maiden and is proud beyond words of that band and what it's achieved, frankly i don't see Francis feeling the same way about Quo, however he does without a shadow of a doubt, want to be in charge and slowly but surely has replaced the original members with essentially a bunch of yes men who know where their bread is buttered and couldn't earn the sort of money they do with Quo elsewhere in the music business

Even the Xs All Areas book, you can't turn a page without Francis subtly hinting that he's the main man and it's all about him Yes but all the current issues stem from the FF reunion gigs from what I can see. They ALL behaved badly back in the late 80s what with 3 of them off their heads 2 more than the other. The other one drinking and getting very fed up of all the arguments and drug taking. After 86 Francis and Rick carried on and it was nearly always Rick who said "This is the best the band has ever been". Between 2002-2011 The first reunion seemed to put a lot of the old problems to bed. The 2nd reunion gigs became a struggle Alan was weaker and you could see he was struggling at times fair play to him for getting through it. However some of Alan's more niggly side starts to come ou again. Plus Rick is partying every night and falling off the wagon so Francis says no more. Now I do think they should have recorded together in 2013 and that was a mistake from Francis (see i'm not always defending him). Bula Quo was the sticking point there it should have been delayed or scrapped. However they had been given the money for it so something had to be done. After that Rick had another heart attack so things again were going wrong. This one was more serious than he let on and I think he was struggling through the 2014/15 tours. They should have eased off and not have done so many gigs. These are just my opinion on how I have read what has gone on. If you think I am doing nothing but defending the band so be it. However I am seeing it from all sides and It's a tragedy that everything has seemed to have fallen apart but it's a set of circumastances not just the actions of one guy. |

The interview with Mick Wall he does not see Quo songs as being great songs. He is happy that he wrote some of them but they are not up there (in his eyes) with the great classic songs like Sinatra for example. Rick and ALL the other members of the band ex and current are proud of what they have done. Francis always says we sold x but there are x more people in the world. That part of him I find irratating maybe it's a defence mechanisim I don't know, it's the same with his guitar playing his solos fit a Quo song the medody melodic solos are part of the tune. Rather than the 100 notes a second solos you get in some rock songs. |

I have hardly played any Quo in recent times..Rick is gone..he was the one I went to see in reality..always went to his side at gigs...best vibe etc etc.
Whatever has gone on behind the scenes is not going to bring him back.
I have no interest in the current line up or product.
The relationship between FR and RP is none of my business...yes I get all the would have liked to do more FF from Rick and the fact that he was not into the Aquostic stuff ..can't blame him for that can we ?
However, he could have knocked on the head years ago if he was that unhappy so I feel we are only talking about the last couple of years..and FR has surelly also earned the right after all these years to try different avenues even if we don't like it.
I really hope whatever has gone on that the reports of Mr Porter meeting up with Rick and the feeling that he was looking forward to new projects in 2017 are what he had hoped for.
For me I would have been sad to hear he was in limbo and feeling left out rather than looking forward to the future.
The problem with all this goes back to the name Status Quo still being used when it is so far from the original.
Peace and love to all..and good luck to those who are still connected to the band with the current line up and are able to move forward..I am not...best just to remember Rick starting up Caroline at Hammersmith with the FF with someone in the crowd shouting go on Ricky as he powered away with no keyboards to dilute the guitars.

Hi All, Like what many have stated only Rick and Francis know the truth of how they felt about whatever, I think that when they spent most of their lives touring in each others company more or less 24'Hrs a day etc.etc. it's bound to get a bit sour every now and then and they will get on each others tits 100%.
It happens in all relationships none are perfect the problem for the two of them is theirs has always Openly discussed from time to time under the spotlight, Has been misquoted, Things have been said about each other, from each other under whatever influence at the time whether it be Love,Happiness,Misery,Rage,Drugs,Booze,He Said She Said etc.etc.etc.
When you take all the above influences together add the Media,Management,Family,Freinds,Emotions etc.etc.etc. stick them all (For want of analogy) Into a mixer and it all pours out with no clear and precise for want of a better word evidence of just what has been said all over the years. Then when you add to all the above us lot the fans giving our own opinions etc.etc. is it any wonder there is so much confusion and misquotes and wrong ideas being floated around ?
Also so much division between us fans at times because of these strong opinions that for all and intense purpose are from second hand news. Lets not forget that while they do the interviews the interviewers will embellish to fatten a Story,Article,Video Interview and Book etc. about what caused whatever and whose fault whatever is and we the fan only get part of the whole story as I am certain there has been a lot we will never know about.
Again in truth the only ones who know are the band members, everybody else who is not in the band in particular with reference to what Rick and Francis have said about each other is an educated assumptions based on the morsels that are given out to them with permission, unless they were played the recorded moments of every word or wrote every word down at every single argument or statement from both their lives simple....

To try and protect the band from the possibilty of uninsured cancellations. In the end the band is a business and the buck stops with Francis and Rick. The same applies to Francis bigging up Richie. Ok maybe he worded it wrong but he has to"Sell" the shows. So of course he had to say the band was good. That's not good marketing deep down I suspect he felt it difficult going on without Rick but he had to be seen as being positve. It's like how Rick used to say about every new Quo album "It's the best we have ever done." He was selling it that's all. |

I can't answer that, as it had been speculated Rick was doing shows next year and that he said he felt fit etc etc. But, however, maybe that is the reason Francis did dig his heels in....
But since there is no evidence that suggests that, I can only go on the obscene amount of times he's dug his heels in, in the past, and the mind boggling reasons and disastrous outcomes as to why he did in the first place
