Actually I do remember Rick mentioning that on a programme a few years back, can't recall what it was though... The Lord Flasheart Here we are. Here is the bit were he actually talks about the guitar. Don't think he mentioned a year but he says he bought it in Glasgow.

Something you need to know about people from the 60s is that we could not keep our hands off paint pots. If it stopped moving for a moment, you painted it. Or started painting it. It was just the spirit of the age. Then if course it starts flaking, rather like Rick's scratch plate ...

Think it was already white when he bought it, whoever did it though did a much better job than Francis did with his Tele.

Thanks you can see something is going on below the white around the worn patch, I don't know a great deal about guitars but I don't think they put dark undercoats on them, so I wondered if he'd been redecorating. He covers the bit about teles being downright uncomfortable because of the right angled body (fixed in the Strat and other electrics) and how it's worn away where he rests his arm on it, but he doesn't say whether he hurried up the process by taking sandpaper or an axe to it before repainting, or whether he just put up with a few years of inflamed arm while it weathered in

I gather that white one he took the finish off and left Natural for a while then painted it dark brown. However he also had a Sunburst one for a little while. Both of them had the Silver Scratchplate effect, I know Quo did some gigs with Lizzy did Nuff influence Phil or Phil influence Nuff?

One of the strangest guitars Ricks ever used... and god knows why he decided upon getting two of them. Anyone know what happened to his Schecter Tele? he still had that around 2004/05
