Well, they have been doing that. They knew from the start and yet, they continued to use his face on posters to shift tickets for the gigs. I also notice they aren't offering any refunds to those who want their money back, like AC/DC did. I know it's not the most tasteful to thing to talk about but, fuck it! I spent 160 quid on tickets to see Rick. Now I'm not so I want my money back I agree that they probably have been doing that, I was just pointing out that could have carried on doing it. And yes they should offer refunds. Maybe they will, the announcement has only just been made so it's early days yet. If there was a refund, it would have been announced, get your head out of the clouds

If the rumours about Porter arguing with Rick in hospital are true then that's a new low, given what we now know about the gravity of Rick's heart attack

Ricks health is absolutely paramount. The band is really irrelevant.
I wish him good health and many happy years with his family and of course thanks for the music and good times.
As for Quo's management...they are ridiculous and a complete disgrace.
They don't really appear to care about Rick only about the bottom line and this is sickening. They have to see some profit or marketing exercise in every crisis. They need a dose of humanity.
To have masqueraded for the last few months as if nothing had happened and it was business as normal (and in fact we can go on and on and on..) was also dishonest to the customers/fans and selling fake goods. Again honesty does not appear to be their forte.

No chance What they've done here is sly and taking the fans for absolute fools. That statement is weird as fuck. Between that, RPJ's tweet, the row in the hospital, the comments in FTMO....There are holes all over this. Like I said, I smell a rat I suspect you are right. Time will tell.

Rick Parfitt
Status Quo regret to announce that guitarist Rick Parfitt has been ordered to rest for the remainder of the year at the very least following on from his heart attack and associated complications following a Quo show in Turkey on June 14th.
This means, of course, that he will be unable to take part in the forthcoming ‘Last Night Of The Electrics’ European and UK tour which commences in Vienna, Austria on October 12th.
Simon Porter, the band’s manager comments, “Although Rick is recovering well and is now able to lead a relatively normal day to day life, he is far from being fit enough to undertake the rigours of Quo’s touring schedule. Perhaps now is the time to reveal that Rick actually ‘died’ for several minutes directly following his heart attack which resulted in mild cognitive impairments for which he continues to receive neuropsychological support.
His medical team continue to be confident of a full recovery, but Rick’s absolute priorities for the foreseeable future are for his health and wellbeing and to be able to see his eight year old twin children Tommy and Lily grow up.
To this end, Rick may well have performed his last show with Quo, but no final decision will be made until next year. Regardless, it is his wish that the band continue to tour as planned and he will always be a part of Quo’s numerous other off stage activities”.
Rick has given his full blessing for the band to continue to honour their touring schedule in order to not let down the fans. Until the end of 2016, Status Quo will continue to utilise guest musicians. Irish guitarist Richie Malone, who is currently playing with the band, will continue in this role at least until the end of Quo’s European schedule which concludes in Paris on December 4th. Freddie Edwards, son of Quo bass player John 'Rhino' Edwards also stepped in for Rick during some of the Summer shows.
Rick will also use his convalescence period to compose songs for a long overdue solo album which he plans to record early next year. In the meantime, both Rick and the band would like to thank the fans for their continued understanding and support.

At this stage it is what it is, I would've been more surprised if they announced Rick was doing the tour, though it could've been handled better, anyhow I hope DQ is having a good nights sleep, he won't have another one for weeks.!! Good Luck Rick Parfitt I don't normally agree with you guys, too many conspiracy theories for me but that comment about Derry Quo made me LOL...

Like I said, time will tell.

I don't doubt that there is little chance of Rick performing with the band again, at least for a tour. His priorities should be elsewhere. That aside, the big question mark is if Rossi should continue his Rossi and Friends electric and, subsequently acoustic tour? They can get away with it for the odd gig as has been the case but to have a permanent replacement for Rick on stage is a bit far fetched. Surely, there comes a time where he can't take it further than it has gone? Its all getting a bit silly really? I just think its sad to call the current band Status Quo with only one original member. I know it happens in this business but sad Quo have to fade out this way, as it will be a fade out now rather than going out with a bang.
This development, if it does happen (and it seems to be heading that way) seals the loss of Status Quo. They don't exist anymore. Its a tribute band and those that see Rossi and Friends should enjoy it for what it is, cos it certainly ain't Status Quo anymore.
Thank god we had Dublin in 2014!!

Ricks' health aside, the Rossi and Friends band continuing to masquerade as Status Quo has now gone beyond a joke. I truly hope this coming tour falls flat. Rossi, sadly, deserves to fade out of this on a whim, not a bang.
Status Quo...seriously folks?
