Says Rick's behaviour stopped him from being a Sir. Plus "what got to Rick was that it wasn't enough for him. He wanted to be where I'm standing"
He has no interest in playing with John again, "it feels maudlin to me"
He says there's another album in them, but unlikely as no money in it

Ricks behavoir with a fan and his missus left a lot to be desired and the fall out from that was particularly sad. I’m only going by newspaper reports.
But it was a low point in terms of “rock n roll behavoir” if that’s what you want to call it. Quite whether that’s what frame is talking about I don’t know nor whether there’s any truth in his knighthood claim. But any discussion around the incident was always deleted by admin on the old board very quickly

Can't remember what year that happened or what year the OBE was. I wonder was that the thing that soured the friendship? |

It was a good few years before that (2005 maybe?) and the word is it led to this guy's suicide. Although he was a party to the whole stupid idea. He obviously never thought it through. But the OBE's were long after the three in a bed thing. Maybe Francis was talking about something else. Can't think of anything as bad though. As for the whole knighthood thing, I'm not too sure. We have Sir Mick but not Sir Keef for example. But I have no reason to disbelieve Francis. Don't see the point in making it up. Frankly, I'm glad. I didn't even like them accepting the medals. |

Difficult to know the exact context of the 'Sir' comments from Rossi. Though I used to think that he was of the opinion that he and other pop/rock stars were undeserving of OBEs etc in the main. He suggested that the more unsung heroes in life should receive such honours and recognition.

Whilst the incident regarding the fan was appalling on Rick's behalf, no matter how anyone paints it, people have gotten knighthoods who have done a lot worse...Like a lot worse.. So I really can't see it being that On another note, Francis doesn't half sound like Alan Partridge at times. "Wanted to be where I'm standing"  Every chapter in his book where he talked about the band reminded me of this...  |

Again, it's all speculative but, I don't think that would be enough..Or would it? I wouldn't exactly call that "really bad" either, as per Francis' description... Speculative but, Francis seems to have a habit of doing this, throwing former members under the bus. Maybe he's projecting? I don't know. Not as if Rick can come out and deny it either. Who knows? What I do know for certain, when I look at interviews, quotes, history of the band etc is that Francis Rossi is a bullshitter and Rick was far from squeaky clean |
