WTF how could of Rick's behavior stopped him from being a sir? That is a dumb thing to say and assume. Actually yeah, hang on a second How can Rick acting the tosser stop Francis getting one? It doesn't!

It wasn't the fan thing then... Must have been something else but, I can't recall anything at the time that came out. Either I'm forgetful or it was brushed under the carpet Do you remember there was a newspaper report about a load of celebrities up shit creek because of some dodgy offshore tax dodge? Inland Revenue supposedly wanted blood.. RP was listed as one of them. Never heard any more about it.. Wonder if it was that? 🤔 I forgot about that. He was listed in and amongst a whole host of celebs. I remember Arsene Wenger being one. It was just before he passed away. Rick that is Same year I think, anyway. But when I read properly into it, there was some dubiety about whether or not this was actually an illegal tax dodge. Given the silence surrounding the whole thing since then, I suspect there was nothing untoward going on in the end.

Frankly, I'm glad. I didn't even like them accepting the medals. As am I.

I wouldn't have thought Quo would be quite in the "sir" bracket anyway. Not enough of a dollar earner.

Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane have awards don't they? For what? Exactly... Think Bono, could be wrong, was offered an honoury Knighthood or award. He didn't accept it.

They have MBEs, IIRR, which is lower down the food chain than the OBE, just. I think Rashford got his for pushing for free schoolmeals for more kids during covid.

Never saw him there No badness, good on them! More of it I say. I just never saw him there... I've seen him stink the place out of it on the pitch and curse at fans though...

Is this the Incident....? 2012 it was......https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-528851/Status-Quo-fan-hangs-wife-left-guitarist-Rick-Parfitt.html The incident itself wasn't 2012. It was a good few years before that (2005 maybe?) and the word is it led to this guy's suicide. Although he was a party to the whole stupid idea. He obviously never thought it through. But the OBE's were long after the three in a bed thing. Maybe Francis was talking about something else. Can't think of anything as bad though. As for the whole knighthood thing, I'm not too sure. We have Sir Mick but not Sir Keef for example. But I have no reason to disbelieve Francis. Don't see the point in making it up. Frankly, I'm glad. I didn't even like them accepting the medals. He died in 2008, though his missus left him for Rick in 2005 but was sent packing straight away. She remarried someone else in 2007 and that was what sent the guy into the depression that ultimately led to his suicide. Also it didnt help that he sold his story to the press in 2005 as it led to him being banned from backstage at gigs, which had been part of his life for years.

It was always about the music for me. I never reckoned Rossi or Parfitt were decent blokes.

My parents were very anti-smoking - i distinctly remember as a 10 year old watching Rossi and Parfitt being interviewed after their Live Aid performance, smoking away, and me feeling really conflicted! Soon got over it though. Exciting huh?
