Mr Quo - if Alan hadn't started it then there would have been no Quo, simple as. & what a band the four of them were at their peak - how fortunate we've all been to experience their performances, both recorded & on stage Alan's left a great legacy & his family can be proud

What a journey they had, and took us all along for the ride.👍

RIP Al Everyone has their favourite shots from Quo's home video releases... like the camera crane panning down behind Rick during the intro to Mystery Song at the Brum NEC - but this is another good'en

Saw the news about an hour ago and admit I broke up a bit. So unexpected even though he had been unwell for years. My thoughts to Dayle and their family. RIP Alan you were, are and will be missed.

Saw JC's post about this first thing this morning before heading out.
Awful awful news. Thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
Thanks for everything Nuff, I finally fulfilled my dream of seeing the 4+1 at Hammersmith Apollo 15th March 2013, to see Alan on that same stage as the others was like all my Christmas' at once.
Time for some Quo live.
R.I.P Alan

A shame as 72 is no age these days.
I’ll never forget the Hammersmith gigs. I know I will never feel like that about any band ever again which underlined how amazing they were. And a large part of that was Alan’s presence.
I never really understood his contribution till then. It just showed how much the post 85 stuff paled by comparison.
He also wrote several of my fave Quo tunes even though he didn’t sing them. Mountain lady, wild ones and who asked you.
Thanks for the tunes and the memories.

Such a sad day. When I opened my laptop to get on the board I saw 45 people watching the general section. I just knew the news was going to be terrible. Goodbye to a great performer and voice. How much courage and grit it must have taken to end the FF reunion tours the way he did. RIP mister Lancaster, you were Quo's heart and you will be missed.
