There's a Judge Grinder on Pornhub... You're wrong Will. I'm actually on the "Sword of Thrustice" website.

Open post to John Edwards
As this thread keeps gathering momentum are we all familiar with the phrase 'agent provocateur'...well done Rhino and thanks for the brilliant destabilising job.
It's alright being honest and pretending not to care but why mention it then. What an immature and provocative thing to say about John Coghlan. Why not just leave and try to be positive and kind instead of becoming the mouthpiece of your boss and his personal opinions.
I'm amazed you left Roy Lynes out of it or do you not know who he is?
I think you are a very good musician who has helped Status Quo keep going and moving forward. You are not Alan Lancaster and it is grossly silly to blame you or compare you to him. I think that you have let yourself down by getting involved in this ancient history that was never really your business.
You obviously infer that Mrs Parfitt "spoilt the fun" that you and Rick were having and you obviously have insight into Alan Lancaster, how long did you work with him by the way?
I look forward to any interviews by people about you but I think I'll be waiting a long time for "Truth About Working With Rhino" article...who would care?

Reading the above argument, you can see how easily a disagreement between 2 people can grow arms and legs and end up in the courts! 😂 But do the courts have the right to issue an anal award retrieval writ?

I must admit I struggle to understand what good he thought he was doing in this interview.
Trying to wash linen in public to me is not a great idea. He however feels a grievance. As it’s not the first time he has done this.
Personally he was way to graphic over the death of Rick but maybe people appreciate him going through Rick’s heart attack in detail and telling people how he reacted.
I believe deep down Mr Edwards is jealous of how people view the earlier incarnation of the band he plays in. I understand these feelings. When an old girlfriend or child hood friend turns up, it makes you feel excluded and maybe loved a little less. No matter how long he plays, he won’t be Alan. He should concentrate on how good his life has been for coming up 40 years. Rather on ex members.

Enjoyed the interview that confirmed some stuff I'd thought about. It's really shit to work with someone you don't like for a long time especially if the bloke has violent tendencies. Great when he gets you nicked in a foreign country and banged up because of his temper. I knew a bloke from school and we were friends for a long time but his character slowly ground me down so that I could not stand him anymore. The Rossi/Lancaster thing is easy to understand if you've experienced the same sort of stuff. Is Lancaster a nasty arrogant violent little man? Stories about him seem to bear that out but as Rhino says what do we know. He must have the full story and from the tone of his interview he can't stand him either. To have a go at him on the board would only confirm what he says. I don't understand the criticism of John Coghlan but only from a musical point of view, could someone musical explain "he gives you nothing". One tidbit from XS All Areas I had completely forgotten was a story where Rick describes a brawl between FR and AL at a very early stage. Of course Rick isn't entirely impartial either but I found that telling. As for JC, I have not listened to the interview yet but I understand he was never interested in songwriting besides making drumming contributions. Matt and Leon didn't write their songs on the drums. Leon even played some guitar during the Aquostic gigs. Maybe that's what Rhino referred to.

I think with Alan there are a few things to take into account. Francis and Rick had ample opportunity to make the case that ‘Alan was a violent little man.’ At the time of the bitter split, it wasn’t given as the reason, if Alan had been violent or threatening towards band members, I’m sure it would have been used in the courts or interviews. They’ve wrote repeated books and including Francis most recent. How much is any violent event recorded or referred to? With the exception of the well publicised Austrian misadventure. I think what’s important is to put it in perspective. Sadly we have never had a biography from Alan. Francis and Alan tried to rebuild a friendship. Whatever the reason that didn’t work. They were in touch until Ricks passing and the fall out. Francis says he doesn’t know why Ricks son was unhappy with him but there is a reason justified or not. Perhaps Alan sided with Rick junior. But mostly I go back to the point I made previously. Why is Edwards dragging it all up, apart from he knows it will upset a few people. I really won’t make any further comment as in truth by doing so I’m giving it the attention Edwards craved.

Even if JC isn't your favourite Quo drummer, it's a crazy thing for anyone to say

I found references to Francis and Alan not having an entirely easy relationship in the John Shearlaw biog when I was a new romantic fan hoping Quo were the four musketeers team against the world like you always want a great band to be. It started falling apart in a big way not long after I became a fan ... I think the friction between those two was there from the start, but they had shared goals and that kept them together for a while. It was Alan who kept in touch with Rick after Butlins, and invited him to join the band when their manager wanted another singer. That didn't go down well with Francis. More irony than a ton of anvils ...

I don't have the credentials, but it occurs to me that a bassist is always one half of a rhythm section, which the drummer is the other half of. Rhino never worked with John, but that wouldn't mean that he didn't have a feeling for what he would be like (as a rhythm partner, nothing to do with talent, achievement etc.) to play with. Casting my mind back, I don't remember ever reading any comments from Alan about John as a drummer, or from John about Alan as a bass player. That doesn't mean there weren't any, just that none made an impression on me (and I normally take notice of that kind of thing). Maybe Rhino feels John works too much in his own bubble. That's my guess.

He was referring to his drumming and said, "he just doesn't get it" Which is quite possibly the biggest pile of shite I've ever heard from a member of Status Quo. Even if JC isn't your favourite Quo drummer, it's a crazy thing for anyone to say Exactly. Suddenly people are slagging off John, he is/ was a shit drummer and that hurts. Apparently I've been wrong my whole life. I thought the four men who were in the band called Status Quo were great. Now I read one can't keep time, another was just a poser. The third one was lazy, so only one of the original four was exceptional. Let's just say I see it differently. The four of them in their heyday were peerless, and I don't care for what reason. Not all of them were friendly? Good. They weren't jazz musicians? Great. They'd rather chase blondes instead of having a beer with the bass player? Excellent. F*ck off, Rhino. You would never have made it onto the Hello album cover, and that is what truly matters.

I guess I should listen to the interview before commenting but I really don't care, as the more I learn of this band I've treasured since a 16 year old the more I don't want to know tbo, I'm sure you understand. What I do know is that when Quo do live gigs, then the majority of songs performed are from the Frantic era which surely must piss Rhino off no end as he's just copying Alan's legacy year after year....for decades!! Must annoy him obeying Francis's determination not to change the majority of the frantic setlist ...and would be sooo frustrating for the band knowing they do actually have quite a number of good songs under their belt, from albums recorded since the glory days, they could play. But I guess he who pays the piper calls the tune....and then I guess he may just consider it a well paid gig riding off the back of Alan.

I don't like this throwing Rick under the bus at every opportunity.
Francis does it, Rhino has now done it, whilst both patting themselves on the back respectively. I mean, Rhino is having a pop at him for getting married.
Bit sickening to be honest, the guy isn't here to answer back.
