Yes they did. They were never a joke band to people who liked them. The three-chord, dandruff, dumb fans stuff all started in the 70s, maybe not over the other side, but it did in the UK. I wasn't even a fan then, and I noticed it. I didn't agree, of course, because I liked them.

The sad fact of the matter is - whether Quo were considered a joke band in the 70s or not - guys like Porter, Walker, Paxman, Keeling etc have worked to their own agendas and thus decided the band's fate - more so than Francis has. In Search Of The Fourth Chord (Porter's idea)? F**k off.
You can also blame a brainless judge in 86 who cared only about the money rolling in for his capitalist tosser bedfellows in the music industry.
Francis talks about doing it for the cash all the time in interviews. OK, he has a point, but he's a terrible judge of character.
Is it a coincidence that no-one else is involved with Porter et al? I think not.

When i said they are a "Joke band" now they are a "Joke band" but back in the 70's there were not as they were at their peak but since the mid 90s years its been endless gimmicks bula quo them naked for an advert in OZ etc the lead singer slagging of the fans as well past band members dismissing the reunions.
