The MB wasn't closed due to keyboard warriors per se. It's because someone gave up moderating it. An article appeared in the Daily Mirror later that the board had closed at the time Quo needed publicity for Bula Crap. Coincidence? Take 'Em Down sounds like someone messed about with Audacity for half an hour. Bula was hugely criticised on the board. Definitely the reason they closed it.

HEAVY TRAFFIC..............#15 Was in the UK album charts for 3 week's It was an OK album. After the 90's dross it was like giving a man in a desert a glass of ice cold water. It hasn't aged well, and while I played it in the car a few times after getting it, I can't remember the last time I thought, 'Right, let's get some of that Heavy Traffic on'.

They could have moderated it, but Gert decided to throw in the towel - leaving Mike Paxman, who was never around much anyway, to sort everything out by himself. Mike couldn't be arsed. Anyway, it looks like they wanted to move over to FB for a while. To quell the success of the FF by underpromoting proper rock music by a ratio of 5 to 1 in favour of a kids film and line-dancing music.

It could have been done better.

The worst of it was losing all the threads and personal messages. Messages from some members that aren't with us anymore. If they'd thought it through they could have frozen the board as an archive, or at least given notice the board would be closing.

I didn't know that they had recorded You're The Voice.
But it perhaps explains why 'The Power of Rock' turned out like it did.
With Rhino hinting that they will keep playing electric shows for the foreseeable future, and that The Last Night of the Electrics tour could carry on, it makes me think back to when they first announced the LNOTE tour, with the photos of Rick and Francis walking away from each other, and it still feels to me like it was intended to be a dissolving of their partnership, but they didn't quite know how to do it. So we got a hastily thrown together concept that would leave the door open for doing more acoustic shows, whether or not Rick & Francis wanted to keep working together.

A case of the weak and unstable vs the strong and stable I think
The lack of sound-bites and clichés on 4ths board is refreshing though these days

No harm or disrespect was intended towards him. Though, at the time, no-one knew (nor should have known) the background details surrounding why Gert gave up his admin duties, so the reaction from fans was perfectly understandable.

I think it was more of trying to keep Rick alive. Rick for years said what he wanted us to hear at times, however the band would have known the state of his health. Francis said recently the initial idea of acoustic was to make it easier for Rick. We have been told that his health was bad for years, however he was never someone to give up something unless forced to.

Another nail in the Quo coffin... and what? 64 and "uh, I have a hangover"... fekkin' christ. Still haven't learn, or is the Rhino Whino thing true?
Anyways. Thanks for sharing the link, Lee, and thank you Rhino for making things easier. I bet a few misguided folks are in the splits right now.

Rhino is imo a good guy and I like him. But he would need to be a very big man indeed to rave over the reunions. He left before the end, and I'm sure it must have hurt that the old line up can whip up such excitement, but his Quo never could or will. Question for musicians - was it musically appalling? Sounded awesome to me! 2014 really quite slick, 2013 rough but ready....to my ears.
As for HT, a drink in the desert it was. I thought it was probably better than IYCSTH and RAOTW. I don't think that now, and RAOTW has improved due to the new release
