I had been trying to keep a dignified silence for and since Rick's funeral but Rossi and his troupe of muppets annoy my happiness and the memory, reputation and credibility of the magic Status Quo RIP.
Status Quo can no longer be so Rossi should just accept this and go and play with himself. (After all this seems to be one of his obsessions, talking about having a 'polish', sticking his knob up his own rear end and how the FF fans in the audience were doing the same.)
I think the word 'walloper' has been used to describe him (DavyNo). I don't know the precise meaning of this but it sounds apt for the low life prat.

I'm sure some of these dates were known about before hand but not officially announced yet of when tickets would go on sale. could be wrong The Aquostic dates (with the exception of York and Norwich) were announced BEFORE Rick died, he was never going to be playing on any of them as it had been announced he was stopping live work with the band (you may remember the Sky TV interview that was on here).
I had an email from York Barbican BEFORE Christmas for their date (I'm on their mailing list) so that one was booked (though not officially announced on the Quo site) before Rick died, it's logical to assume Norwich was already booked as well.
So, all that has been announced here is dates that were already in the diary/known about - nothing new.
Whilst I can understand those saying the band shouldn't carry on now Rick has died, from a business point of view (and legal point of view) it would be very difficult for them to justify cancelling these dates due to the death of a band member who wasn't scheduled to be playing at them.
I think (and hope) that apart from the tribute concert there won't be any 'new' gigs announced for a long time, if ever again.
"Despite the sacking of the founder member, the drummer and the untimely death of a bloke who came aboard in 1967..we will be a band as normal rrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhhtttttt" Well you never know Billy.

They WEREN'T described as 'the surviving members of Status Quo' by Rossi, they were described as 'the surviving members of Status Quo' by the NME - a 'music' paper that hasn't carried a positive Status Quo story for 30 years! The article (inacuaracys and all) was written by Damian Jones who as well as being an NME writer works as a DJ under the name 'DJ Headshrinker', in other words a man who is an expert in UK rock bands who have a 50 year career.

It just shouldn't be happening. Really. Knock it on the head and get on with solo projects and stuff. No one would begrudge that.
There is no way Rick would have wanted this, especially now that controversial words have come out from his autobiography. I feel so sad this continues under the illusion it is still Status Quo!!!
Rick deserved far better than this. I just can't get over it. What a way to end it all.

Unfortunately I find it incredibly sad and undignified.
The Eagles did it the right way when we lost Glenn Frey - 100% Don Henley's 'Rick'.

Come on billy this is one of the great Quo running jokes,Milton Keynes and the rest of EOTR..."We are not splitting up we will be a band as normal" and then we got the exact opposite.

So let's get this straight, you demand Francis, founder member of the said STATUS QUO ceases his means of employment and income but lots of you are happy for copyists to gig away and earn a bit of cash and are happy to attend said gigs. Some of you demanding Francis closing QUO down even play in said bands ! Talk about double standards !

Shouldn't you perhaps give them to the 2nd hand shop in protest? Perhaps someone should have known back in 1974 or so and taken action then ...

Unfortunately I find it incredibly sad and undignified. The Eagles did it the right way when we lost Glenn Frey - 100% Don Henley's 'Rick'. The thing was they wern't active at the time of Glenn's death. To me the rest of them have been put in a impossible situation. If Rick had not had the heart attack in June and still passed away over christmas. think they would have knocked the band and these gigs on the head. However they are carrying on this year because as far as insurance cover for the band goes. They have no real reason as to not performing. The promotors knew that Rick was not going to be there and Richie was standing in. So they will not see Rick's death as a valid reason to not perform. The band have been taking a massive risk putting on shows since 2011 with Rick not having any insurance for heart problems. it has come back to bite them and now they are in a catch 22 situation.

Sadly i think in part it comes down to money.
As i see it Rossi aint hard up for a few bob but in no way would he be in the same league as the Eagles as far as money he's got stashed away, i think he has a lifestyle he enjoys and has become accustomed to and in his opinion what's in the bank won't satisfy that for the rest of his days, assuming he was to knock it on the head tomorrow, he certainly wouldn't go without but may well have to tighten his belt. At the end of the day it's got jack sh*t to do with us but knowing what the business was like back in the 70's i doubt any provisions were made for pensions and even so may well have been cashed in when they did go through financial woes!
So all the time Francis wants to work i just see the rest falling into line, i'm sure Andy and Rhino do ok out of it, but no doubt on a smaller % with Leon and Richie whilst essentially probably being paid a wage are just happy to be "living the dream"

They can use Panto Quo, Francis Quo, or Fraudster Quo and everyone would agree. Cheers

However the public would not use it, most people I know call them ELO not Jeff Lynne's ELO.

Some of this is his own fault for shoving so much money up his nose in the 70s/80s. I think he has been on the back foot ever since. That's why stuff like the covers albums happened they generated much needed money.

Well Charles quite a lot of you will just have to stay very disappointed ! Unfortunately Francis Rossi, Rhino, Andy Bown have been members of the band Status quo for 30 years this year and Francis is absolutely going to take not one bit of notice from any board member here. His band full stop. The only solution for those massively dissappointed is to seek out a Delorean, mod it up and transport yourselves back to 1975 !
