I can understand both sides of it and kinda feel a bit torn about it myself...of course i can understand it if people would want Francis to play some guitar parts in it. I can also understand how it could be a way to lay all the problems from the past a bit to rest... but, for me personally...I am sorry but I would rather have him stay the heck out of it. Francis has done nothing else in recent years then to tear everything down about any possibility of ff reunions and has done little else then to insult anyone who would even remotely think of the possibility of any ff reunion. For him to suddenly play on a project then that he didn't even wanna be part of is at the least very strange to me. The guitar parts are ready and done by Rick...John just needs to add drums... let it be the way it is and was intended to be is basically what I feel about it all. Sadly enough it has developed far enough for me that I am actually very curious to hear Rcik, Alan and John without Francis and see what they would come out with. Of course, if Francis does play on it, I won't boycot it and will give it a listen. I just hope it doesn't take away anything from what possibly could be two very good tracks. Let's just say I am at the least very careful and worried about Francis being added to it all.

With Rick passing away will this maybe change Francis's attitude with Alan and John as surely he must be thinking the issues they have had and the falling out again with John & Alan (is that correct?) will make him realize life is to short and rekindle his friendships with them? I really hope that's the case. I recently watched the extra on the Hello Quo dvd where Alan and Francis go around their old haunts from their teenage days. They were obviously good pals in the past. They may never be close again but I hope they can let any anger go now. They won't be.
John's recent dig at him Alan tearing him apart in a recent interview Rick even got the hump with him in recent times
I don't know what has gone on in his head or why his attitude is the way it is but, I can't blame any of the three for it

Yes... but didn't all those things happen before Rick died??? That is the point some of us are making. A death can profoundly affect and change some people. I'm not saying it will for sure but that it can. And John was very respectful at the gig on 30th Dec in London. He made no digs or snide comments about Francis at all.

I sat and watched the ff documentary again last night. It was great seeing Rick so charged up. When he came offf stage at Dublin he was on such a high, and he knew how much the fans loved him. I'm so glad he got that experience before he left us.
Francis by comparison was stand offish and dismissive.
Let's hear the tracks the way the three of them planned them.

Personally, I want to hear these tracks, how Rick wanted them to sound. If Francis shows up, before you know it, they'll become Dolly Parton sing a longs and John and Alan will have been replaced with Rhino and Leon. No doubt they'll smuggle the female "singers" into the place

Rossi is the undertaker. He's killed the band, killed their spirit and buried their reputation. But he sticks around for the wine and cheese afterwards.

I'm thinking he doesn't deserve to be asked. Reasons?
I.he doesnt beleive in the FF.
2. He dissed both ff reunions He claims 70s Quo is just 'nostalgia'(although he continues to play these songs live)
3. He has led Quo-lite down to low caberet .
4. Comments on Alan and Johns playing were disgusting. And wrong.(and he was not nice about the fans that turned up TO PAY HIS WAGES).
Leave him to lead Quo-lite to the end of the road playing accoustic sets to ever diminishing audiences.
I really hope PLC have success with this project. They deserve it

It's a tricky one. At first glance I'm tempted to say don't be obstinate or bear a grudge towards him, but the arguments against him doing it ring true.
Personally, it's the first new FF material for 36 years, and the last we'll ever get, excluding anything that may be in the vaults.
I'd like to think in light of Rick's passing, Frame's approach would be consciously tasteful and spirited. He is part of the FF after all and listen how the reunions reminded him.
It's only the novelty factor that piques the curiosity of wondering how a perhaps rawer, more stripped down F3 would sound.
But I know I'd wonder for the rest of my days how much better it could have sounded with Rossi on it.
Depends, I suppose. It'll probably be great regardless, such is blind faith.
Dunno why the feck I posted all that really!

It's happened before Yes, that's what I meant... Rick has done the lead, they require no lead (like ASSW for example) or someone else was / will be involved.

I really can't make my mind up about this one.
Part of me hopes that Al and Spud tell Rossi to bugger off if he offers to play on these tracks. It grates with me how he dissed the FF reunions as 'Nostalgia' and that he didn't get it, saying things like the drummer couldn't keep up, we weren't rehearsed enough... to me his heart wasn't in it like PLC's were.
BUT...
Assuming there's absolutely nothing left of RP's in the vaults that could be salvaged- the roughest of Demos even - then these 2 new tracks will be it.
IF Rossi happened to come up with something brilliant (like he was capable of doing on MOTT for example) and assuming his lead fitted in with the style of songs - would Al and John really turn down a final opportunity for the FF??
I'm not sure!
But either way, they will still be eagerly awaited.
