CLAP (Coghan, Lancaster and Parfitt) Even better if they use the definite article. The Clap. With the line-up they have, any top class guitarist would be itching to join The Clap.

As I said elsewhere, should it ever come to fruition then they should call themselves SFQ, which could potentially stand for my previous suggestion of Sans Francis Quo - but any Frankie Miller fan would know what it really stood for!
Or as a tribute to the recently departed "Manuel" they could go for Que?

This appeared on Facebook an hour or so ago. Patty Parfitt Becareful of Chinese Whispers, there is No PLC no album no tour, R has announced he is doing a Solo Album and maybe using one of Alans songs he has written with him and maybe John will play on it...Nothing more. Funny that no-one has commented on this post. Is that because everyone on here is more interested in a collaboration of the three of them rather than a RP solo album?

RP's never released solo album was actually quite dire. Awful stuff to be honest. If he plans on releasing a solo album the songs need to be a helluva lot better than the ones on his earlier effort (most of those songs got released as Quo b-sides in the 80's)
I wouldn't mind hearing a collaboration of the three of them though. Could be quite interesting and definitely heavy. I wouldn't go with just PLC though, I'd prefer to see them billed as The Parfitt Lancaster Coghlan Band.
Or how about The Parfitt Lancaster Coghlan Experience.

Is that because of the clip of John's recent interview where he mentions recording with Ricky Parfitt and Alan? He' doesn't actually say new album though. So if John is saying this on Sky TV, there must be some truth in it. I've uploaded the video in the other thread about PLC album.

Yes that was exciting hearing him say that, but in retrospect, he could have just meant working with them both on a couple of tracks on Rick's new album....

Good enough though Gran R solo album means full album and tour with lifelong Quo fan Dave Gilmour coming in later for tour. Maybe using Alan's song means double album of Parfitt/Lancaster songs containing the 'what happened next' Backwater story in full Maybe John will play means Coghlan is in with both feet Album will be recorded at IBC and produced by Damon Lyon Shaw. These are not Chinese whispers Gran THIS is the truth.

I was on the train this afternoon, and this guy (mid 50s) was in chatty mood and spoke to two youngsters from Glasgow (20s). He said, "you must know who Jeff Beck is?" They had no idea. And he started singing Silver Lining. I'm not sure why he thought they'd know this but it did make me smile.

(...) I'd approach a young lad called Aaron Keylock About 17 years old, looks like an early 70's Francis Rossi and plays with a nod towards Rory Gallagher. A blues rock star of the future maybe. Interesting. The old men of boogie paired with some young blood. This scenario does remind me of Ten Years After: saw them a decade ago with their new frontman and they were brilliant; it was never going to be easy filling Alvin Lee's shoes, but the 'youngster' did it with panache. It would be great if Quo (that would be my proposal for the new band name, old font) could find such a man. I don't think Aaron Keylock would be the right man for the job (too young), although I certainly like his style. We need somebody great in his twenties or thirties.

No, I was trying to appear too young to know what he was talking about...
