I can’t remember who the poster was, but I think the quote that nuked the message board was regarding the Bula Quo single. People started posting responses after the track was played on Radio 2 that morning. All of the responses were in the negative but the one that made the mods hit the self destruct button was “Perfect Remedy era B side meets the Um Bongo advert”. 😂 Oh dear, I wonder who that was? Was it you kachunk? Did you break the message board? 😁

Davy No?
He posted a couple of posts that were as funny as anything that has been posted on here. He was big on conspiracy's but he would chat about it amicably until a line was crossed when personal issues were brought into it. We exchanged an email or two and he told me he said things to wind some posters up.
I miss him.

The thing that I miss about that board was the fact that even if your viewpoint was the total opposite to somebody else, that other person was as passionate about the band as you are. I remember a guy called Rock ‘n’ Roll who was convinced every Quo single would get to No.1,despite the fact that they nearly all reached No.38 and limped out the charts after one week,he never gave up believing.

And what of Bad Penny? He was good on American politics and stuff like that, his name was Bob. He's been on the other board quite regularly. But he rambled on a bit, especially about local American politics. He was from Rhode Island or somewhere in that neck of the woods. I never saw him once comment on Quo

He gave me a copy of Perfect Remedy once that had been remixed long before it was remastered by Tim Turan. He was convinced it was vastly improved. Like you say, he never gave up believing

BlueHighway what has happened to him not seen him post on here for ages i liked the chats i had with him after i joined here BlueHighway, every family has Blue sheep and he was ours. He was an imposter pretending to be a famous keyboard player and like yourself I thought he was an okay bloke, but, seeing as I didn't actually know the bloke he was pretending to be, a bloke named Tony Carey who was in the band Rainbow so I never asked him about that side of his alleged life. I think one or two on here believed him and rightfully felt betrayed by this liar when the real Tony Carey was contacted by a board member and he found he was known to Carey as someone who was doing this. Yes I remember you called bullshit very early on when he revealed himself as TC. He fooled me for years but there you go. In the end I guess no damage done and no swindling. Whoever he was , was actually very entertaining.

You can blame me for a couple of names not being here. First and foremost this board was about Quo and to allow a load of strangers to share that love of this infuriating at times band. I, and the mods, volunteer our time to manage it and to comply with Proboards guidance on acceptable content. Over time, some members went too far, and it was better all round for everyone to either take a break or leave (sometimes voluntary, sometimes not).

I never saw him once comment on Quo Yes another character lost out there somewhere in internet land. Good ol BP. He added some spice with his views. He claimed he was a lawyer and admitted he had zero teeth and survived on soup which I found odd upon learning. The other American I recall was old Quo fan?? I found his posts very entertaining particularly those times he said he was sat in some dodgy bar very pissed.🍺🍺👍

I’m sure we all appreciate how this place operates… plus seriously it’s such a great place to talk to fellow people who truly understand why Quo was so awesome.

My memory of the official board towards the end was that you got some really interesting post subjects but within 3 or 4 posts it had descended to cheap abuse about the current line-up vs. the old line-up. In the end I couldn't blame them for closing it down. It became a rather sad waste of time. It certainly wasn't due to a single post or a single subject, but I guess there had to be a final straw.
This board with it's reduced membership is much better and more accepting. If that's down to the moderators, well done. I guess it 'helps' that the old line-up can't get back together now and that the current line-up is more or less finished.
