Has anyone noticed that the guitar solo has been taken from the original 1977 version and pasted into this new recording?

To be fair, Quo are in very good company. John Lyden advertised butter not that long ago. Iggy pop, insurance! Alice Cooper, Sky with Ronnie Corbett. I dare say it's not the fact that they're doing an advert that irritates some but the use of THAT song. Again. Probably better to exploit it rather than treat it as a millstone.

I expect John Fogerty will be happy with the pension top up too.

This may cause more outrage - but I'm glad it wasn't What Ever You Want. Hasn't that been used for an advert too.

I expect John Fogerty will be happy with the pension top up too. I wonder who re-wrote the lyrics?
"Oh here we are at M&S and here we go Remarksable value means that prices are low Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
Get your dinner sorted with our dine-in deal Or look for locked prices where the value's unreal Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
And they've dropped them and locked them, they've dropped them and locked them The prices are low but the quality's whoa Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
Eggs and bread and milk and cheese, the prices are low All down the aisles, great value on show Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
Pasta, spuds, and carrots, just to name a few Remarksable value is here waiting for you Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
And they've dropped them and locked them, they've dropped them and locked them The prices are low but the quality's whoa Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
And they've dropped them and locked them, they've dropped them and locked them The prices are low but the quality's whoa Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
And they've dropped them and locked them, they've dropped them and locked them The prices are low but the quality's whoa Here we go-oo, saving all over the store
And they've dropped them and locked them, they've dropped them and locked them The prices are low but the quality's whoa Here we go-oo, it's the best food in the world"
Can't believe i just typed that out.

I knew it was one of the two.

Sadly I don't think Fogerty owns this one any more.
EDIT! WHOA! WRONG WRONG WRONG! It looks like he just got his songs back last week!

You have to remember it is all " Show Biz"to them. They have always liked to dabble in this sort out stuff. Remember prices are down, prices are down in Aus a few years back. How to murder Down Down lol They started down this road in the eighties messing around with the Rick and Francis act on Cannon and Ball. Harmless fun albeit a bit cringe worthy. I would much prefer they did not dilute the product and tarnish the image but could not really careless now. Do not really get the hatred for RAOTW, it just gets used for too many things which shows it is basically a good singing tune.
