On University Challenge a couple of month’s ago, when ‘Status Quo’ was an incorrect answer in the music round.
Alistair Campbell being interviewed in The Times last month and being asked ‘What song saved you?’ He replied ‘Status Quo’; explaining that he was once struggling to complete the London Marathon when he heard a band on the roof of a pub playing ‘Rocking All Over The World’ and it gave him an energy boost that got him through the dreaded wall.
Hywel Bennett in an episode of Shelley, saying: “If we’re not careful, he’ll be around here in a minute, banging on the door like a Status Quo drum solo”.
Lord Attenborough saying on the Blue Planet: “F*ck me, lets rock. Play the Quo!”
Ok, I made the last one up…any other random mentions?

Here in Oz they showed Robson Green fishing and one point he was fishing and asked a guest if he knew Status Quo cause his fishing stance looked like a Quo stance. No joke.

Saw an old TOTP yesterday. LOAI was in the charts. During the charts rundown, "Status Quo change style and they can still have a hit"

There has been a few over the years. One I can remember featured a so called comedy programme, the name escapes me, featuring Gary Olsen ( I think). Anyway its about him trying to meet his friends at the Ipswich Gaumont to watch Quo. Another one was the police drama Prime Suspect starring Helen Mirren. She goes to a house where a crime has been comitted and a police officer says something along the lines of `Oh, this is discusting, I have never seen anything so awful`, he then shows Helen Mirren some Quo albums!

Wasn't there something from the Top Gear trio when they were rolling down a road in Viet Nam on mopeds in the rain and the Clarkson man yelled: "I feel like Francis Rossi!" . Never got that one.....

From today's Guardian in an article about a football show on Amazon Prime.
'Prime has been good in many ways, employing a vast miscellany of broadcasters, presented here at the start as a kind of festive chorus line, a punditry Band Aid: Jim Rosenthal, Steve McManaman, Francis Rossi, Sting.'

In Classic Rock, about Molly Hatchet:
"The second album from the Jacksonville band who seem to have been doomed to live out their career in the shadow of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Nevertheless, the group’s altogether more metal approach, allied to such monumental songs as the bullish rocker Whiskey Man and Boogie No More – a juggernaut of a track that back then made UK boogie merchants like Status Quo and Foghat sound like mewling kittens by comparison – helped to make this their biggest seller in America."
So I listened to this "juggernaut" and I found it a bit tedious:
What do you think?
