MORE??? Jeez!!!
There were 5 remastered albums from Japan that came out a year or 2 ago (Piledriver - BFY) that are supposedly better remasters than the recent Culture Factory ones (can anyone confirm this?).
So i assume that these ones quoted above are the same remasters as the Culture Factory remasters, just in different packaging?
All in all, VERY confusing!!!

Nope these are the same Andy Pearce remasters that were released in the UK in December. They're on SHM-CDs which are supposed to be a bit more 'high fidelity' but I've never really noticed much difference.
They're not the Culture Factory pressings - and they are the ones to own.
Apart from the John Eden RAOTW of course!

Apart from the John Eden RAOTW of course! I recently bought Quo OTL and BFY on the culture factory pressings and I have to say they sound amazing. Everything is so much louder but so much clearer too. There's a lot of tracks where you can really here John smashing the shit out of the drums that u couldn't here before. Also there's a lot of tracks that I didn't really care too much for but now I love them!! You can really notice the bass boost on tracks like What to do, Broken man, ease your mind etc.... Not sure what these Japanese releases sound like but I could probably guarantee they won't sound half as good as the CF releases.

Ok, so that proves how confused i am. I thought the Andy Pearce remasters were the Culture Factory ones.
So there is:
Andy Pearce remasters Culture Factory remasters (are they remasters, or Tim Turan remasters repressed?) Japanese SHM-CD's released a couple of years ago Japanese SHM-CD's of the Andy Pearce remasters
And all more or less the same run of albums....

The Culture Factory editions appear to be the Tim Turan versions, as far as I can tell, but they've been put through some 24bit mastering process before being re-pressed back on to 16bit CD.
I'd say the Japanese SHM CDs are the best for packaging - they replicate the original vinyl sleeves perfectly - but the sound of the Culture Factory CDs are the only ones I wish to listen to.
