By the way I think the title track is criminally underrated. Could have fitted on Piledriver. Great, great guitar solo. Even love the vocals and don't think this would be better with Parfitt on vocals.

Wonder if there were scenes in the studio, and in the end they both decided to do a kind of dual lead vocal?

Always think of Quo as Alan’s album but never really considered he sings lead on 4 tracks here as well I rate BFY highly. Possibly their most complete album. I love the solo on Blue For You I can only count to three: ITABW, BFY and EYM. Or are you even counting Rolling Home? I have earlier done a graph over the songwriting credits and it's clear that this album was his peak in that perspective as well. *(a song with two songwriters gives 50 % credits each, three songwriters gives 33 % and so on) Nice but this isn’t right if I’m reading it correctly. Lancaster only wrote 3 on RAOTW and Rossi 5. Although it’s around the time Rossi’s dominance started to show it’s also a time when Alan’s songwriting quickly went down hill. Compared with Blue for you, His songs on Rockin, and Heat are very poor. He had a bit of a renaissance for the next 3, but by 1982 he was spent.

Lancaster wrote 2.5 songs (2 * 1 + 1 * 0.5) and Rossi wrote 2.33 songs (4 * 0.5 + 1 * 0.33) on RAOTW. It's my way of counting but I would think that is also how you count when distributing royalties.

Ah I never read your footnote. 👍🏻 Interesting that Alan was among the most prolific for a time. Although apart from the two openers I’m not overly keen on the Quo album
