My first Quo album which set the benchmark for everything that I have loved about the band. A helluva mixture of heavy rock, 12 bar boogie, blues and the last track, a 6 minute epic with MS. Whats not to love? The high water mark of album releases - they would never reach those heights again.

Only puzzler for me is why I never used to like Rain. Stands out for me now as one of the bands very best singles
As with Down Down, lots of Quo fans won't realise how different MS is on album. Lemmy said it was "definitely in the top 5 rock n roll songs of all time", and it's hard to disagree
Such a shame the intense power of MS has never been captured live
For me this album isn't as consistent as the previous 5 albums, but it's highs and overall sound make it worthy of its Classic Quo status

Quo lost that hard edge on this album.
Too clean and over produced.
Possibly past their peak by this time.
Having said all of that mystery song stands out like a beacon of all that is good in rock music.
An immense track.

One of my favorite albums. Absolutely love Is tere a better way, Ring of a change, Rollin' home, That's a fact and Mystery song ! I never cared much for Blue for you and Ease your mind, and Rain I used t love but I got a bit bored of it cos I heard it too often... as far as the songs Blue for you and Ease your mind go, from Alan I have always just preferred the more harder songs like Don't think it matters, Is there a better way and Over the Edge. I have something very special with That's a fact, I really like that song to bits ! My favorites are Mystery song, Is there a Better way, Ring of a change and That's a fact. I got into quo for real the first time with RAOTW... when I heard Blue for You weeks later I couldn't believe the difference !! Blue for you is a class album for me

The last studio album of that classic run through the early to mid '70s. The last one to have that distinctive Quo ooomph. Mystery Song is, for me, one of their true masterpieces.

Quo lost that hard edge on this album. Possibly past their peak by this time. [br ITABW is the addition of speed to ale and spliffs, almost punk like. The Ramones checked Quo out a few times, and the BFY tour saw them faster, harder and more in your face than ever before or again. For volume they later peaked with NTL. Rock giants all that time, the hard edge was not lost! BFY set even more rousing than the previous tour. Claudie played on OTL tour, wouldn't have fitted well onto Live! Quo had got harder

After some poor months where Backbone and Quo Pro Quo have been center of the discussions it's good to go back and give attention to some real Quo music.
This is definitely one of my favorites. At least top three together with Piledriver and Quo. I think it is their best sounding album, sounds fantastic.
Is There a Better Way - One of the hardest songs they have recorded. A bit different from other Quo songs but great! Works really well as an opener.
Mad About the Boy - Nice melodic blues tune. Great guitar solos.
Ring of a Change - Almost progressive rock, far away from three chords boogie. Very well played, few bands could get it that tight. Nice bass parts.
Blue for You - Earlier this wasn't my favorite, maybe I thought it was to soft and meek. Now I have to say I love this one. One of the greatest guitar solos on a Quo record.
Rain - Always loved this one. One of their greatest singles. This is essense of Quo to me: Heavy shuffle rock.
Rolling Home - Really fast shuffle. Rossi does some of his best vocals on this album and this track is no exception. The bass and drum roll pickup after the harp section is a lovely detail.
That's a Fact - Not a favorite but a good song.
Ease Your Mind - I guess I'm not in a majority but I think this tune is great. Lovely melody and great vocal performance. The guitar hook and the solo is simple but very tasty.
Mystery Song - This is a masterpiece. The bass playing is superb and the bass and drum roll fill from Rolling Home comes back in the refrain.
