"I feel so stupid I only just found out Bernie died in 2019 by accident while doing a Wikipedia search."
What button did he press?

Bernie was introduced to the band as a friend of John Coghlan. What happened to their friendship, particularly when Bernie started writing with Francis?.

Probably a silly question, but we all knew Bernie co wrote a lot of Quo songs, but did he play any instruments?

There's a photo Luke posted on the first page of this thread where he and Francis are both pictured with acoustic guitars. It's kinda the standard instrument if you're a writer. (Either that or keys.)

I’m pretty sure this was covered by the quo management at the time as well as some magazines.
From memory Francis helped him out with some debts and rent etc and then he just disappeared. I think he fell on hard times and had a lot of bad luck. Quite why he disappeared I don’t know but I thought it was common knowledge he had passed

Quite a shock really. His last writing contribution with Quo was on the Under the influence album from 1999,then he vanished in terms of writing anything with Quo anyway.

2 tracks released on the 2002 album "Our Life" by Cherrystone were written by Rossi and Frost and feature Bernie, Francis, and Jeff Rich performing on the tracks. Engineered by Tim Summerhayes, recorded at ARSIS Studios, produced & mixed by Rossi / Frost / Gray.

Or 90's if you drag them into that era (Cast, The La's, Bluetones etc). Basically, I thought they sounded dated even then. And they haven't aged well But interesting in the sense they were probably Bernie's last contribution to anything musical.
