Has Francis ever made a real effort to persuade someone well respected and known from within the music industry to put together and record an album with him?
I'm of course asking the question rhetorically and thinking the answer is "no".
This would have been the most obvious way to get inspiration into tapping into something innovative and creative...and also doesn't sound like Quo. If he can't be stand-out himself in a different field, then collaborate instead and make something happen.
Its up to him of course how he plays out to his eventual retirement, but if he insists on wanting to continue to play and want something different, then why on earth carry on with half baked karaoke and playing the same set, year on year, tour on tour, re-constituting what is already a corpse of a formula - and which he has admitted himself is beyond a sell by date!
It just makes no sense whatsoever...
As LNOTE shows, he is not even singing and playing properly. It sounds lazy, sloppy, well below what he is capable of, and does nothing for his credibility Who would want to work with Rossi though considering he is not that liked by alot of people & who would want to be associated with the karoke version of Quo now shit management Rossi a control freak. Rossi who has not been playing solos properly for several years singing lazily etc His solo album was a flop wasnt it the fact is he needs the Quo name more then it needs him to some degree

I've just listened to the samples of each track on Amazon, and I honestly cannot believe how shit it all sounds. To allow such a mess of a recording to be released is a crime against the entire back catalogue. Some of the 'Rick parts' I was struggling to work out who was singing, plus why on earth are they still playing bloody 'Rock 'n' Roll Music'? No need whatsoever to keep on playing that now Rick has gone, in fact there was no reason to play it when he was still alive either!
The sound quality is dreadful, the mix is horrendous, and that bloody awful graphite guitar that Rossi insists on playing need chucking in a skip! For Christ sake Rossi just get another Telecaster, any bloody Telecaster, new or old, American or Mexican, whatever you get simply cannot sound as bad as that bloody thing you're playing now!

Like Quo have over the years, Francis ruined his chances by releasing something extremely dull to start off with. He quite clearly stated that he didn't want Faded Memory released but it was the management / record company's decision. If Francis wants to make something of himself outside Quo, e.g. the project with Hannah Rickard, he needs to get rid of people with obvious bias and over-familiarity with Quo. Otherwise, it just feels like a continuation of Quo regardless of whether the music sounds like it because it's the same bland press releases ("proud to announce...") and the same cheap and shoddy promo videos (courtesy of John Keeling).

I think OSAAT was a very good song. Faded Memory has that nursery rhyme quality of the likes of Tommy.
Its way too late now to expect any change in personnel surrounding him. The project with Hannah Rickard will probably have the same sort of slapstick Coles advertising as the main band have, and as a further means to fill the quoparody.com wallet.

I couldn't agree more. The mix is Shockingly bad. It sound so dull flat and lifeless. The cd you could buy on the night straight from the mixing deck sounds so much better!! I hate Francis new guitars too. He much have refused to use a telecaster just to be awkward and to annoy the hardcore fans who slag him off. Quo's trademark was 2 telecasters.

... No Coghlan or Lancaster then and now no Parfitt. It's like your pet dog dying and your parents replacing it with a 'lookalke' and every one pretends it's still the same dog, but you know it's not, and nobody talks about it. Genius. Just fcuking genius.

Is that Richie playing the intro for Beginning of The End? It's fucking weak Don't know as I have not (and will not listen to tripe from this tripe band) but whilst Parfitt had his amplifier in Spinal Tap mode 'going all the way up to 11' Ritchie Malone's guitar is set at -1 by Rossi so it can't be him!
