After being dissapointed with the RAOTW album, I was hoping for a much improved production and after hearing Again And Again for the first time on Radio 1 in the Autumn of 78, I thought this rocks, but after hearing the lead single from the album on a decent record deck, it didn't sound as good as I first thought. Accident Prone is my favourite track and I did enjoy O What A night, especially live, but as Viv said, it's much to poppy for my liking.

It wasn't one I liked much either. I couldn't bring it to mind easily until I looked at the track listing and then I knew all the songs. So I must have played it a fair bit at the time. I also hated Again and Again because it was more fuel for the Quo haters. I like Accident Prone and I'm Giving Up my Worrying. And don't mind Oh What a Night, and Like a Good Girl. But that Long Legged Linda. Can't stand that one.

Yes, far too many again and agains in Again and Again!
Easy to see how it leaves itself open to mockery and parody. Shame because without that chorus the rest of the song is much better- I guess that's why I don't mind it.
Have said this before, but I was immune to disappointment about the ROATW and IYCSTH albums possibly because the gigs were the same as ever and incorporated songs from both those albums as they were released which, at the time, seemed to go down really well.
If there was ever a time that Quo could no wrong in my eyes it was the 70's and that could be why all the disappointment with the albums post BFY went over my head. I only ever remember everyone having a good time and don't remember anyone slating either album, but obviously they were.
Can accept how some didn't like the change in sound on albums post BFY, even though hadn't thought below the surface about it before. Joining SQMB alerted me to just how unpopular these albums were and it was an eye-opener - it never seemed like it back then.
I guess some revisionism is also highly likely after so many years. All of the good times had long been soaked up and the only way is down from there. Three to four decades is a long long time...

This is off course very different production but I like most of it except for Long Legged Linda.

Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to believe it's the same band that released one their best albums "Whatever You Want" the following year. Which was followed by another 2 of my fave albums, "Just Supposin'" and "Never Too Late"
I remember being confused and let down when I played RAOTW album for the 1st time, mainly due to the light production.I love all the songs except for " Who Am I " " Rockers Rollin' " and " Hold You Back " are standout tracks. QUO had always done a great job of producing themselves, shame they let Pip Williams produce any albums. RTYD was produced by Francis, he did a great job on that album.

I was just kidding about ole Linda. Lets have a blast of it. Lovely old tv appearance too. The way Francis lifts his legs around at the start makes him look very tall.

OMG, 4th Chord is sitting in judgement of what constitutes a "true' QUO " fan "
4th Chord likes " Accident Prone " which is a DISCO abomination, it's another Williams/Hutchins atrocity, I always skip that rubbish because it's not a QUO rock song.
LLL is a tight punchy Andy Bown penned rollicking romp, with a horn section and adventurous female vocals. It's a rock song, not a DISCO song.
GTYTLM and OWAN are great rock songs and save the album from being a total DISCO disaster.
If anyone is a " true " QUO fan, it's me. FFS " Heavy Traffic " & " ISOT4Th Chord " are 2 of their best albums & QPQ is an outstanding album.
To me QUO are a religion!!

Read my post again. It wasn't me who wrote 'true Quo fan', it was a joke by Viv.

Ah! The humour was too subtle for Slow Train. It's getting late here in Australia, time to get some shut eye.

The 'Why are you doing this to me' album.Great title and a reasonable single but then...It does seem to contain one or two bored with this lifestyle lyrics.Oh What A Night being the most obvious example and this album sounds like the fun has gone out of it and it's become the grindstone.WYW carried this theme on.

Thanks to Curious Girl for the video of LLL, that was really good. Yes, my bad slowtrain7, I was referring to a long running joke here where 4th Chord always asks if the answer is LLL. I should have put up a warning to that effect. And its a song he also really loves. 4th Chord is innocent, please don't blame him.

First Quo album I ever owned and Accident Prone was the first Quo single I ever bought.....first single by anyone actually.
4th Chord loves Long Legged Linda....although he hasn't mentioned it recently.
