I've been on the Forum for 2/3 months now and I haven't seen any posts or threads about this 1978 album.
I'm curious what people think about this album and what their fave tracks are and why.
I like " Gonna Teach You To Love Me " " Long Legged Linda " " Oh! What A Night " " Stones " " Like A Good Girl "
I'm not a fan of Pip Williams in general, though his production on this album was o.k. compared to his other attempts.
I left " Again and Again " til last because it's special for a couple ( few ) of reasons. Firstly, the change in the drumming from the on beat to the off beat, Coghlan very clever drummer, one of the best drummers. Secondly, the lyrics create a great story. Thirdly, my younger Brother likes the song and he has always made fun of me for liking SQ.

Hi All, ST7, The album leaves a bad taste in a lot of fans mouths and for various reasons. As for myself I have always liked the album I think most of the tracks work well and although not the Chug Chug music had be known for up to RAOTW I still enjoy listening to, in particular GTYTLM/LLL/AA/AP and Stones....

There are a fair amount of tracks I like on that album... There's a backing synth used on 'Accident Prone' and 'Again and Again' that I love the sound of, but i've not got a clue how to describe it
You can hear it the most during Accident Prone
I don't get how this track was never done live...

Geoff, yes its not a classic album like predecessors, but I also like it. I recall enjoying the studio difference at the same time as the gigs rocked on as always. Oh What A Night was good live as well from what I remember

It's a bit mixed for me...it's got some tracks that I really don't like...but also some that I really do like a lot. Favorite tracks are Accident Prone, Let me fly, Like a good girl and I'm givin' up my worrying. Again and again is a good song, but just heard it too often. Not fond of GTYTLM and OWAN. It is a special album to me though since this album and Rockin'all over the world got me into Quo in the first place. I got those two albums from a school mate on a cassette, saw Accident Prone on tv and was sold.

Perhaps Quo's best experimental album! They created some great sounds here, with particular care to guitar solo sounds. I really like the vast majority of the album, but a classic Quo album needs lots of heavy "dadadadadadadadadad", and there's not that much of that here.

I felt the same way about Again and Again as you in terms of over exposure, plus also it had been trivialised stuffed into the medleys (which I don't like) but then that frightful AQ version came along and reminded me of what a good song it HAD been

I don't mind the album apart from Someone Show Me & Gonna Teach You To Love Me. Accident Prone should've been huge, surprised it didn't, especially during the disco era. If a American disco band covered it & released it at the time it would've been huge imo.

Yes I know we all are entitled to have different opinions.... But for me, this album was the biggest let down ever. I hated it. Again and Again just reinforced the arguments of those who constantly mocked Quo. Athough I admit it has a great intro, so maybe it was the lyrics that bothered me more? It seemed to be a parody of themselves. Maybe they thought it was funny and a joke but for me I thought it was awful. And the other songs... just too poppy and over produced.... blaaaa

It wasn't one I liked much either. I couldn't bring it to mind easily until I looked at the track listing and then I knew all the songs. So I must have played it a fair bit at the time. I also hated Again and Again because it was more fuel for the Quo haters. I like Accident Prone and I'm Giving Up my Worrying. And don't mind Oh What a Night, and Like a Good Girl. But that Long Legged Linda. Can't stand that one.
