I love Quo..all versions . I have done for most of my life as I loved matchstck men in 67 but didn't start to follow them till MA Kelly and first saw them live in 1971.But I also love The Moody Blues and would have difficulty deciding who to go and see if they were ever playing on the same night. I Think The moodies would win, simply because they don't tour as much, but Quo is my no. 1 group...they just make me happy !!

They were my first live gig...Canberra '75...the anticipation and excitement as they walked on was a moment I won't forget. OW ARE YOU ALRiGHT...ALRIGHT?? Love me babe.. love me when I'm down...everyone instantly stood up in the seats and bounced!! It was so loud and perfect.

We are all Quo fans, but just where do Quo sit with you? To me they are the ultimate r@ r band. Nothing comes close to them, especially live, ye fuckin LIVE. The greatest band ever to me. But I presume there are Quo fans here who just like them and have them lower down a list of fav bands. So come on, where do Quo sit with you? C Over the years they have fluctuated up and down in my fave bands positions, but just like a bad habbit I keep coming back. Once a Quo head always a Quo head!

Quo are top of my list. I listen to Sabbath, Lizzy, AC/DC, a few others but quo are probably over 70% of what I listen to.
And that is Quo of all decades, 60's to whatever the hell we call this decade.
Would even skip Sabbath to listen to Aquostic, - on occasion.
I have said elsewhere that I used to work in a high frequency resonant fatigue lab where we find that every "body" has a natural frequency. Adding a small amount of energy at that frequency is multiplied. I think music is like that , some bands / artist just hit your frequency. And Quo hit mine.
Rationally I can listen to many (most?) Quo songs and thing it a pile of puss, BUT will still not be able to switch it off and think it hits my spot more than any other song - my natural resonant frequency.

For the seventies they were it for me - albums played to death, but after RAOTW drifted into IYCSTH so did my interest drift and wane. So, now they get heavy rotation on car trips, when I'm in the studio and when I'm in the garden or workshop, that's where that group of 70s albums sound their best for me. So they were number one with me for a few years and I must admit to clambering for anything from the reunion tours, so they still deep in my heart.

Having read some of the posts on the recent topics in this section of the forum I would disagree with you that 'we are all Quo fans', I would say the vast majority probably aren't!

I am not a Quo fan in the sense of the band that exists today. In fact in truth not since '84.
I appreciate some of their post '84 stuff. I really like some it. But a fan... Not really Put it this way, their best work post '81 wouldn't get in my top 20 albums.

But I presume there are Quo fans here who just like them and have them lower down a list of fav bands. So come on, where do Quo sit with you? C A year ago I had completely stopped listening to music, at home and in the car. I listened to audiobooks and nothing else. Now I know RAOTW and IYCSTH virtually by heart. Piledriver, Quo, Hello, OTL and TPAOY I know about 75% by heart. People give me strange looks when I'm pounding air drums and singing at a stop light. My youtube Quo playlist is 319 videos currently, and I listen to it every night. I have a new favorite song every week (this week it's 'Lonely'). Fueled by this playlist, I wrote a 164,000 word novel in one f'n year! No band ever has had such an effect on me. They are my favorite band of all time, and I could argue they were consistently better than even the Stones. (I'm not a Beatles fan so I don't have that discussion.) If I compile a list of top ten favorite albums from any group, Quo would have 3 or 4 spots. The only others off hand I can think of that measure up are: Mott by Mott the Hoople The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust by Bowie Past, Present and Future by Al Stewart They Only Come Out At Night by Edgar Winter Group (a high school favorite, this is a sentimental pick) Sticky Fingers by the Stones That's all I can think of. Piledriver, Hello, Quo, OTL, RAOTW and IYCSTH are all fighting for the other five spots. And yes, I know a lot of you don't like the last two I picked...too bad. I think they're incredible. Did that answer the question? Oh, and if anybody cares, my favorite Quo 3 album is probably ISOTFC.

A great response like that leaves no-one in any doubt about your credentials as a Quo fan Its a shame that many more of your country-folk don't share this appreciation, or knowledge of Quo.
I'm always interested to hear feedback from you of those you have introduced to Quo over there. Whether that be directly, or indirectly ....maybe through an open window of your car
I also agree with your assessment of ISOTFC as a favourite CQ album. Its mine too, very closely followed by RTYD and UTI.

LOL...you should have seen the looks I got from a truck full of Mexicans about half an hour ago. I had 'Rain' cranked up and was head-banging and I think they thought I was having a seizure. I'm not sure what it is about Quo that struck such a chord in me, but I have never had this reaction to a band before, and I'm 60 years old. It's been a weird year, some really bad but some really good. Quo is much of the good.

Really nice thread this - nice to read how you all feel.
By "Quo" below I mean pre 1982 including Andy, Bob and Libby. Quo are very special to me; they're like family. Like many of you above, I like lots of types of music. Some of it I consider some the greatest experiences I can have. But Quo are different. It is not sophistication nor credibility, it is fondness. Quo feel like a well worn coat, a familiar view or a comfy chair. It has been thirty odd years now, but still hearing the lush phased intro riff to Who Asked You? fills me with pleasure. What a band they were! Shame Francis couldn't read and start getting his head around how much it means to us to see the classic line up again Just one last time.
