it's a belter. Surely you've seen madrid '75? Aye but I've just never liked it. Always thought they just threw it on the album because it was laying around at the time. They were playing it as The Spectres. It was always around.

I think that's the problem when you record a track you have been doing live for a long time. look at the re-recorded versions of Caroline/WYW/RAOTW on Riffs. They were just lazy efforts. I know they had also been doing Roadhouse before recording it in 72. The early versions of this were good though there was no jig. Not sure when this was added it was not there in 71 Sweden. However by early 73 at the BBC show it was there and looks like it was there for a while. The album version on Piledriver is good but a little polite.

You blasphemous dog from the deepest bestial fornication pit in Hades.....carried away...sorry. You can't deny Bye Bye Johnny is pish but. I don't mind it ...rounds the album off with a bit of rock n roll.

Well it's better than Ease Your Mind and Mad About The Boy. I don't really like Mad About The Boy but Ease Your Mind is the song before Mystery Song and this makes it great.

I've never understood why so many folk (usually the youngsters) don't like 'Mad About the Boy'. It's a feckin great song and good fun to play. It's not a bad song.Shows how good they were in that era when I can mentally discard this song.Would be a standout track on anything post 1977. But loads hate Ease Your Mind and I fcuking love this song...what a band!

The real polished bit on the studio recording is the harmonies when the "Keep your eyes on the roadhouse" comes back in. It doesn't fit.

But loads hate Ease Your Mind and I fcuking love this song...what a band! I love it too. There's not a bad song on the BFY album. How many bands have released SEVEN great albums in a row?.... EIGHT if you include "Live". Not feckin many. They were the peerless mutt's nuts in the seventies. No question. "Live" is an album it took me years to appreciate. It had to be played loud and living with parents, wife etc makes it hard to to really crank it up.In 2009 I was doing late shifts in a dance studios and I was finally able to play it like it should be on the studios fantastic stereo systems.I knew it was a good album but to actually hear Parfitt do that Juniors Wailing thing, the only let down on the FF tour,as though he was in the room was incredible....all other "Live" albums are nothing more than dubbed up fakes..pseudio albums in fact.

They could have done two separate set lists from the glory years without a problem. Is it me or is Nightride a song that never just plays but blasts and has the best party lyrics ever
"Scheming, thinking of the right place Beaming, laughing at my own face" Makes me feel happy.

Did I ever tell you that I WAS in the room when he did that?..... You are rightly proud of your judgement in attending. On the recording of FF Hammersmith 15/3/13 you can almost hear me being nostalgic..in an almost totally fuckwitted way.
