Yes, and 5 of those songs are 5 of the 9 that Alan & Rick wrote together. I've always found it a little odd that after a couple of their compositions came out in '72 & a couple more in '73, they then dominated Quo & subsequently ...... never wrote together again. Right. I see what you mean. I thought you meant there were nine songs on "Quo", when there's only eight. No, I'm not thinking of Quo as including the Lonely Night bonus track.

No, I'm not thinking of Quo as including the Lonely Night bonus track. That ain't the "album" though - that's the remastered CD. Not the same thang. Exactly so.

Actually just played the 9 Rick & Alan co-authored songs together, starting with the 5 off Quo: Backwater; Just Take Me; Drifting Away; Don't Think It Matters; Lonely Man, then back through Blue Eyed Lady; Joanne; All The Reasons; Softer Ride. Sweet!

9 classics , no doubt we would all rank them differently -on any given day . I'd rank Joanne 9th best and then any order you like after that. Shame a few of them never made the Live set , which is something you could also say about the Quo album in general. What would it have been like when it kicks back in after the drums on Slow Train - mental.

I have always wondered why they never did the full Slow Train. I wonder if it was written as a possible replacement for Roadhouse Blues but they ended up sticking with what they knew. The way it is structured kind of reminds me of the live versions of Roadhosue.

I always thought Lonely Night was a cracking song. Certainly better than Bye Bye Johnny, Reason For Living and Blue For You.
