'Dun dundun dundun dun dundundun...' what an opener. My second favourite Quo album. Not a lot can be said about Hello! apart from it's feckin' superb!!!
9.5 out of 10.

Bearing in mind that Led Zep 3, Led Zep 4 and Brave New World are 9.5 in my catalogue system (which I just made up), I reckon Hello is probably a ... 9.4? Same as Piledriver.
The only album I ever reckoned a 10 is Hark the Village Wait by Steeleye Span, and they cheated slightly by pulling on all the best songs in the folk catalogue for 200 years. The follow up Please to See the King is also a corking album, and I promise you, NEITHER of them has "All Around my Hat" on it.

A truly definitive Quo album - not just amongst fans, but probably an album that some non Quo fans might have had at some time.
It earned the sales success recognition that had been made possible from the Piledriver recognition launch pad.
It also happens to be the first Quo album I owned that made me the fan I have been since (it was 'borrowed' initially actually)
Putting all this together, and with the added aside that there are some fantastic songs on the album in their own right, then it must therefore receive another 10.

Blue Eyed Lady, Caroline, Forty Five Hundred Times & Rollover Lay Down are amongst the best tracks they ever recorded, imo. Softer Ride likewise, but it was a b-side from Paper Plane & unlucky not to be on the excellent Piledriver album. Claudie is ok but nothing special, although popular live. I find the lyrics to the other two tracks a bit weak/cringey. So 8/10 for me.
