I feel sad and relieved.
A little sad that Quo has dwindled down to one core member who play this strange version of acoustic music. (more like a full orchestra to my ears.) Or they'll be a "heritage version" of their hits if they return to electric tours.
And relieved that the truth is out there. And Rick can walk away and do something he wants to do.
I'm glad he says he's well again but I would be doubtful if he is well enough for a full on Quo type tour yet or if ever. But some gigs with John and even Alan would be very interesting to check out. Those tickets may well be gold dust if they only play a few gigs.

Firstly I would like to say that it's great to hear he feels recovered, that's a big plus from where we thought we were a few weeks back.
Well if this turns out to be the case, then it's very sad indeed. Maybe I'm a numpty, but I still don't think we have seen the last of the classic line up together.
So it seems Rick, health scare or not, has finally just turned around to Rossi and Porter and said, "nah if that's what's planned, then f**k ya". I've got a feeling this might have happened regardless of the heart attack.
It seems pretty obvious Rick wanted to do more with Alan and John.
Will just have to wait and see. Good luck for the future Rick, you are a Quo legend and a rock legend, if no Quo, then something with Alan and John would be of interest to many of us for sure, let's pack the Bilston Robin and rock.
Message to Rossi though, if the current situation remains the same, don't tour as Status Quo next year, do the decent thing and call it Francis Rossi and Friends or something similar.
Keep healthy Rick.

... and of course, none of Quo have ever said something for things to then change. In a radio interview circa 2002 / 2003, it was Rick who said Reunion shows would NEVER happen. It took 10 years, but they did. And things are likely to be "messy" for him financially with a potential divorce on the horizon. Methinks he'll be up there with Quo again.

This is a good decision by Rick. If he had done this in 84, wonder what would have happened.
Quo plc would be very interesting, and Parfitt has positioned himself very well to do this. They would sell more than any quostic tour will ever sell, and could play venues such as Hammy.
If Rick recovers enough, it will happen. I for one will travel as often as I did for ff

Thing is in 84 Francis was ok with Rick and Alan carrying on without him he has said many times he was happy to go solo. If anyone is to blame it's the record company who demanded a Quo album with Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt was a optional extra.
If the RC did not want to back the solo projects cause they saw more money via the Quo route then that's what was always going to happen. Remember how when Francis first met Rhino and Jeff, (Ricks descision). He was offhand with them as he did not want to do Quo anymore.

Thanks for the memories Rick. You were the sound track to my youth. All the best...

A fiasco of an ending but totally inevitable. I hope to God all of these venues on LNOTL tour are half empty. John,Alan and now Rick have confirmed that they prefer Quo to be a rock band and Francis' defenders across many past and present Quo sites, can no longer defend him. Hi All, K, Sadly up until very recently I had always given FR the benefit of doubt, but over the last year it has become very apparent that he has wound up the majority of Quo fans with ever increasing arrogant interviews lambasting Quo's history. In particular the FF history especially after the reunion tours, which is stupid for he was a main influence in that part of Quo's history. Yet he obviously hates it for whatever reason ? And your post is spot on with the latest RP interview like I said the dying breath of a once great giant of the rock world.....

My first Quo Gig: Harlow Playhouse 05/02/72 My last Quo Gig: London O2 Arena 13/12/15 I'm just glad I bought the live CD of this concert. Talking of live concerts, tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the recording of 'Live At The Apollo Glasgow 1976' double album

Francis does not hate the FF, he said the other day if he hated what he had done it meant he would have wasted his life. He regards On The Level as the best Quo album. He has just fallen out of love with the Heavy Rock element of the band. Not that different to Ritchie Blackmore who is still proud of In Rock and Machine Head but prefers his softer medieval melodic stuff these days.

Sad news indeed. A rock legend. I'm not going to slag Rossi off, he's gone in a different direction, musically. Good luck to him. It's not the direction most folk on this board are happy with. As for Rick, let's hope he makes a full recovery and can get out there again and do what he does best. See you at the convention Rick......!
